Wasn't there a "Quote" button in the box for private messages? I think I could quote private messages in the past.

If not, could it be done please?

Thanks. Smile

Quote or no quote button, it still doesn't explain why you're not responding to my PMs. Wink

If the quote button has disappeared, it should be brought back.

I never get any private messages, except for "warnings" from the administrative team.  Cry

Why would there be a quote button? When you click reply, the original message is automatically included in the reply.

I sometimes need to quote parts of PMs I receive into PMs I send to other people, usually due to Team work.  Smile

I could be wrong, but I don't believe such a facility has ever been there. You can "forward" a PM by simply clicking reply and changing the name of the recipient.

Confused

Is simply using "copy" and "paste" too much effort?

^ Yeah, but when it has the "Originally posted by ..." mark, it's like a hand written paper becoming an official document because of the official stamp & signature.

Also it makes things more clear, it's a visual aid, it helps phrasing your thoughts. For example, wouldn't it have been more simple for you to not quote my post? No it wouldn't... Tongue

Well, that "originally posted by" is no guarantee of authenticity, or that the quoted material hasn't been monkeyed with by the sender, as you can see above.... Wink

What you are asking is not possible. A QUOTE button in a PM reply would quote back into the PM reply you were quoting in the same way that quoting this thread posts back into this thread. If you wanted to quote from a different thread into this one you have to cut'n'paste from that thread into this one and the same would be true in a PM.

If you want to quote a PM from Micky into a PM to Peter the only mechanism that could work would be cut'n'paste. The only difference is you have to manually type in the [ QUOTE=username ] .... [ /QUOTE ] forum codes.
