Topic: can't upload new avatar Posted: February 24 2007 at 02:02 |
I've been trying for some time to upload a picture from my hard drive as my new avatar, unfortunately without success. This has been happening for a couple of weeks or so - I never had any such problems on earlier occasions. When I click OK on the window, I get a message that says "unable to upload image - Error 1120". What can the problem be?

I also experienced that. There's definitely something wrong with it. Try uploading your new avy on any image hosting site (Photobucket works for me), copy the URL and paste it on the text box, and press upload avatar. See if it works.

Thanks a lot, MM! I just changed it using that method, which worked. However, the image looks a bit squashed... I think Jody asked for M@x's assistance in this matter.

A bit squashed? Hmmmnn... Try reducing the image size to 80x80. Your avy looks fine here though. Scruffy cat.

It's actually a Norwegian Forest Cat. I found its pic when looking for material related to fairy-tales for my PhD dissertation.

Hmm-- very similar to the Eastern American Maine Coon, perhaps they're a distant relative.
