That's got to be really hard on the throat -- just walk ten miles into the woods and try it!
Anyone who finds "singing" like that to be pleasurable, or puts "prog" in front of it, should be dragged out and SHOT.
I really thought he was going to throw up! Just wait -- that will be the next generation's thing (they'll have to do something truly disgusting to offend that guy and his peers, should he ever manage to reproduce!)
All that moronic anger makes for good cannon fodder -- next stop, the recruiting office....

I thought the funniest thing was between bouts of ...eeer ... vocalising, he had such an innocent, nay sweet smile...
I bet he loves his mummy...

keep in mind that quite a few prog metal bands started off as the "screaming scandinavians" (ulver, amorphis, opeth, ihsahn (with emperor)-just for starters)
he'd probably sound much better if he had a band behind him...although most black metal bands have since abandoned corpse paint...

Seen this before, good for a laugh, love their faces. Wonder who were the singers they put above his level though? I bet he's as interesting as that awful show gets.

Do you really think so? (Ah, when the prog and metal worlds collide.... )
And does the fact that Anderson has a higher-pitched singing voice than most really make him a sissy? (To be completely honest, I found his voice hard to get into at first, as a young teen, too. But that's his real voice -- he's not distorting it to sound like an orc on helium, at least!)
If Anderson is a sissy, then Geddy Lee must be an absolute flamer, and many "screaming" metal-type singers must be complete panty-waisted girly men!
All a matter of taste, I guess -- some folks actually enjoy pain, and perhaps that's just how 'he-men" sing, and perhaps I lack the requisite massive levels of testosterone to "get it."
Or perhaps that type of "singing" is just painful (and not just for the singer), and not worthy of being called singing....
Can we compromise, and just call that a type of very specialized "vocalizing?" (I can fake a demon or monster voice too, but I'll bet that 99% of the people on planet earth wouldn't normally call that stuff "singing." I think most would find it totally laughable (that's why that clip is on the web, after all), and extremely irritating.
Just for fun, imagine singing like that in church!
Still, no offense -- it's just art, and I was only kidding with the "dragged out and shot" remark.
(Listening to that stuff is punishment enough for you!)
