If possible complete the Core 7:
- Days of Future Passed
- In Search of the Lost Chord
- To Our Children's Children's Children
- A Question of Balance
- Every Good Boy Deserves a Favour
- Seventh Sojourn
The seventh album you have already: On A Treshold of A Dream.
Ah, IMO, Moody Blues is pure prog!

I really like 'The Days of Future Passed' which came out in 1967, a few years before 'OTTOAD' I've yet to hear Threshold, but I got 'In search of the Lost Chord' and was a bit dissapointed, so I stopped buying Moody Blues albums.
I'm searching for that definitive Moodies album, which encapsulates the spirit of the band in the early 70's. 'Theshold' may be too 'sixities pop' for me..
Can someone reccomend a good early 70's Moodies album? I'm looking for something a little darker than their early stuff..
Froth, I do reccomemnd 'The Days of Future Passed' it's a concept album, complete with orchestra and poetry. Very innovative for a band so young at the time, and the production is fantastic.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

IMO, after DOFP, the best Moodie album is "Every Good Boy Deserves a Favour"

A question for all prog fans here :
Which is for you the most really prog album of MOODY BLUES ( of course between 1967-1972) ?
IMO, it's "EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR" .
P.S. Not their best, but the album that contains the classics progressive elements more than the others albums.
Sorry for my poor English.

Ok, but when I wrote "seventh" I was not thinking in chronology; maybe a problem translating from Portuguese to English

Tks, Ranger but now it's too late: I bought them all including "Octave"...
I also have the DVD Hall of Fame made in 2000 and they were fine playing live
TO PAULINDIGO: yes (IMHO).

Well, I only have four out of the first 7 ... the first three plus seventh sojourn ... it always shocks me when people name threshold as a favoured album ... because for me, In Search Of The Lost Chord is one of the greatest albums by any band ever ... I couldn't believe it when I heard it (at that point I just thought Days of Future Passed was going to be the best) ...
I was very disappointed with Threshold ... at first, now I think it's quite good, but still nowhere near Days of Future Passed and certainly not as great as In Search Of The Lost Chord
one day I must complete the collection with Children's Children, Question Of Balance and Every Good Boy

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I have to disagree "Blue Jays" is a great album.
I have all the Moodies albums and all the solo albums. Although I can't pick a favorite TOCCC might be it.
