Here i made an album ranking of Savatage's albums from worst to first. This list will probably be seen as controversial by some, considering there are 2 era's to Savatage. The classic heavy metal era which came first, then the progressive metal era, which is the era i love of theirs and got to know them as. Ive tried to be as fair as i can with the ranking.
I know that i messed up on the release dates of Power of the Night and Edge of Thorns, which is rather embarrassing, i dont know what went wrong there.
just incase i dont get it right >>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYwk-G4pjuw Edited by Greenmist - March 16 2022 at 06:17 |

This site is for prog and prog-related, not heavy metal.

Savatage has created several progressive metal albums, so I don't see your point here. Also why mention SexPistols?

I was gonna say, ummm Savatage were progressive metal from their album Gutter Ballet onwards. Your even find a page on them on progressive archives.

Your list isnt too far off mine, but from watching other Savatage album rankings on youtube, it seems quite a mixed baggage. Your certainly more of a fan of their progressive works than their classic metal stuff. I rather like traditional metal, which is why i put Hall of the Mountain King high on my list. I think me buying Wake of Megallan on vinyl 15 months ago made me listen to it more, and that made me realise just how good that album is.
