Yesterday I was listening a band called Happy the man. Wow! This is good prog! It plays on a web radio called Shooting Star Radio (http://www.shootingstarradio.com/).

I have not heard Oblivion Sun's first one yet, but The High Places was one of my favourites of 2013.

I have a few -
Death's Crown 1974 529 6/10/00 Beginnings 1975 442 1/1/97 Happy the Man 1977 530 2/15/00 Live 1978 Jul./Oct. 240 1/1/92 Crafty Hands 1978 531 2/15/00 3rd "Better late.." 1979 Feb. 638 2/15/01 Muse Awakens, The 2004 1236 12/25/06 I had only heard the debut album (1977) in LP format. Many years later I was browsing at the now long gone Tower Records and came across the live album, which by the way would be a great introduction to the band for the uninitiated. They reunited in 2004 for a very good final album. The essential studio albums are 1977, Crafty Hands, and Muse Awakens. The others are OK but not essential. |

^And they have a real Canterburian feel to their music at times.

You are right on the money....I own the same albums (except the live one) and that's pretty much how I would rate them.....the 'first two' studio, 1977, 1978, are still the best. |

I love The Muse Awakens album, just listened to it yesterday I actually forgot how good it is. It is also quite surprising that their sound and style remained intact after 30 years and some lineup changes.
Never could get into the Better Late..album though.

Incidently, the phrase "happy the man" first appeared in music in 1971 on a Sebastian Temple record. That
was one year before the Genesis record.

^ But that doesn't tell us where the band took the phrase from. Considering the Temple song, it seems unlikely they would've wanted it as a namesake - - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIMfYsSJHLo

Love them. Their original two studio albums (and to a very slightly less degree TMA) are classics,, but there is plenty of stuff to enjoy on all their albums.
