So apart from writing/recording instrumental prog (which - incidentally - is here: http://montresor.bandcamp.com), I've been busy going through 63 Frank Zappa albums to reveal points of conceptual continuity. For those uninitiated with this aspect of Frank's work, basically lyrics, characters or pieces of music will recur throughout his albums, and he calls this 'conceptual continuity'.
I wrote a lengthy article on it here: http://in-disciplined.com/?p=315 But most importantly - there's an interactive map that you can play with to find points of continuity! Have a read, have a look at the graph and enjoy! Cameron (Montresor)

I am actually extremely impressed. Seriously. Where was this twenty years ago when I started my long trek through Frank's garage?!

The ultimate in conceptual continuity: Zappa plays Zappa.
It looks impressive indeed. The interactive map isn't working on my iPhone, so I haven't viewed it interactively yet. Edited by HackettFan - March 16 2016 at 12:04 |
