I hope it'll be good - there are two other bands playing who are described as 'technical doom metal', which may or may not be my glass of tea, but we'll see...! Ermm LOL

Yeah, frankly I'm ready to admit I might just be too old to appreciate "technical doom metal".  Don't listen to a lot of metal these days, I did so much more in my youth.  Also whatever the younger set gets out of "post-rock/metal/etc." is lost on me.

Augh, 'post-rock'... some of it's ok, I think, but it's so unmemorable that I can't think of any band names off the top of my head...!  (I am better at remembering the ones I didn't like!! Wink)

I have a feeling the Mathrock side might be more entertaining, but I'm saving that for some other music investigating time...

I’m really trying not to buy CDs right now, and I’m trying to stay away from iTunes as well, although there’s lots of Italian stuff I really want!!!  And ‘Hundred Sights of Koenji’ is back in stock at Wayside… aargh!!  I’m taking my mind off it by listening to Present right now, though. Tongue

Is anything playing where you are?

I'm playing the new album by Cynic (after all that talk about not listening to metal EmbarrassedLOL).

I can't even look at Wayside right now - absolutely must be on hiatus to justify the HC box, and now this Magma box comes along - if the price here works out to about $10 a CD I'll order that as well, even though my favorite Magma records are live ones.

Good morning Pat and Melissa.  Don't let me interrupt your conversation.  I just thought it would be rude if I didn't drop in and say Hi.

I'm pretty tired, but that is normal for a Monday morning.  I went to the Detroit Lions' game yesterday.  That made for some excellent comic relief.

Ouch.  I'm sure they'll pick up a win at some point, all the "bagel" candidates do, inevitably.

Love your most recent purchases.  Clap

I assume you mean the 2 National Health CDs.  Did you see my ragging on you in the What Are You Listening to Now? thread.  I knew that you said that they were really good, but I didn't realize that they were very good to the extent that I would think that they were very good too. LOL

I honestly don't think that the Lions are going to win a game this year.  They've missed 3 or 4 good opportunities already.  Jacksonville was probably their best shot, and that obviously didn't happen yesterday.  Their remaining 7 games are on the road against Carolina, Indy, and Green Bay, and at home against Tampa, Tennessee, Minnesota, and New Orleans.  Of these games, I see Minnesota and New Orleans as the only 2 games where they have any chance at all.  Of course, they'll probably go in to Thanksgiving Day 0 and 11 versus an 11 and 0 Tennessee, and beat Tennessee 45 - 0.

Hehe, Wayside should indeed come with a financial health warning...! LOL

Hello Scott!  Just a brief hello as I am off home now! Tongue

Goodbye all (uh, both...) and have a good day... Hug

Found the page with your comments - glad you liked them so much!  Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time.  If you liked National Health that much then you definitely need the two Hatfield and the North records.

Too bad that they're not on eMusic.  I'll have to keep my eyes open for them.

Melissa's significant other would have a lot to worry about if CV accompanied her to the gig, or pretty much anywhere.  Wink

Oh my god!!  Twenty-something Christian, for sure. Embarrassed Heart  I mean... intense European virtuoso visionary with sinewy forearms... who wouldn't, frankly?!! Wink LOL

Sixty-something Christian, on the other paw... hmm... well, I'd happily make him a nice cup of tea and ask nicely about his grandchildren*, but further than that...

[*I suppose there's a possibility he has a percussively-gifted, fluent-in-Kobaïan grandson with eyes like slate-coloured vortices... Ermm Evil Smile]

Actually, my new and lovely 'significant other' has absolutely nothing to worry about on that front! Tongue

On which note, I'm outta here again!  See you later...
