Ouch, I'm sorry, didn't look at the dates, just saw this from the "main" forum page and decided to post.

No, don't worry, it's not your fault, it's just often these threads are best left in the past.

Only if they lose weight with Sawlimbinoff. Don't listen to him, by the way. If you have something to say it's better to revive an old thread than start a new one. Actually it is a silly premise, yet nice to hear that the music speaks to someone in their teens now as it did when I was that young.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

My god I hate these conversations. No, it's physically impossible for anyone under a certain age to like a certain kind of music. Man I've been into prog since I was thirteen, and we're talking Soft Machine and Gong, something as approachable as Genesis could appeal to anyone. And regardless, if it doesn't work out it doesn't become a fact that applies to everyone.

I remember this thread.
Well, since I got into 70s Genesis at the age of 17, I would say.... YES!

No. All teenagers can do is listen to Top 40 and whine about their emotions.

Teenagers are more than welcome to enjoy prog but they must be warned that doing so will result in them being considered as hopeless weirdos for the rest of their lives

They 'can' but don't choose to explore music past what is presented to them--and related.

Does this answer your question?
LOL, my nephew several years ago.
He still loves Genesis and Pink Floyd and he's almost a teenager....You just have to teach them when they are young

I discovered Genesis when I was 13, and I loved them instantly (well, Genesis up to "And Then..."

Hmmm...I listened to Genesis when I was a teenager. Of course, that was a century ago...

I can barely stand most Genesis and I'm no longer a teenager. I'd rather listen to Marillion's Script for a Jester's Tear than Foxtrot or Nursery Cryme or any post-Gabriel Genesis album, and you can crucify me on my goddamn way to Sunday School for that.

Well yeah. I did. As did many others here. Not to be mean, but what the hell kind of question is that? I guess every kid these days can only enjoy prog metal and growls

Sorry I can't help myself. Can adults enjoy early Genesis?
|
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

I am a 16 year old going on 17 in a few weeks and Foxtrot and Selling England by the Pound are two of my favorite Genesis albums. I will always prefer A Trick of the Tail but the old Genesis is still a great band

I wonder what would happen if PA had any sort of thread voting features like that. Probably bad things.

Bad things indeed... especially on Polls, now there's some abstract horror to keep you awake at night!

I'm 18 and I LOVE early Genesis. I've met people as young as 13 who feel the same way.
