Listening to Tago Mago, Western Culture, and Depois Do Fim back to back could kill lesser men. I try to space out classics like those, not listen to more than one or two in a single day. Otherwise, everything else just sounds ridiculously inferior by comparison.

Just one album today: Sally Smmit and Her Musicians - Hangahar

Phallus Dei is also one of my favorite ADII albums. There is a strong trance-folk-esque feel of it that no other album repeats. Obviously, Tanz and Yeti are also phenomenal albums, but this one has that very "scary" pagan feel, that just wins me. "Luzifer's Ghilom" is one of my top ADII tracks.
Kobaia and 1001 Centigrades is probably when the Coltrane influence was the strongest. Great albums. As a side note, I've just found out that Magma's logo is based on the shape of a bracelet of the African tribe Coltrane's ancestors came from. Very interesting, I think.

Yesterday:

Keith Jarrett - Birth Very nice album! It's what I would call avant-garde post-bop for the most part and it's really enjoyable. The second piece, which features a wah-wah upright bass (amazing sound), is especially fantastic. The free-form parts are also quite successful.

Botany - Deepak Verbera I've been really digging Botany's music recently. This is his newest release, which FACT Magazine described as a mixture of Alice Coltrane and Popol Vuh. And this is it. This album is really good, very meditative, calm, and relaxing yet if you dig deeper into the music, you might find it's very deep.

^Indeed, Phallus Dei have a unique sound very different from the other albums, it's like Samla Mammas Manna's debut, this one is MUCH more fun and original than Maltid and Familjesprickor.
I'm starting to hear some jazz too, trying some avant-garde jazz and fusion, i'm apreciating the experience so far :D
(Also Luzifers Ghilom is one of my favorite songs from ADIIBig smile)

I've ordered Hubris solely based on what you guys have written in this thread. Sounds too good to be true to these electronic infatuated earsBig smile

Yesterday:
Dungen - Häxan (Dungen finds out about the mellotron and puts it to good use)
Vangelis - Rosetta (Best album I've heard from the Greek in a looooooooong while)
I can understand that. For me it depends very much on my mood, I either find it really annoying or enjoy a lot. That works for the Beard as well. Transatlantic even on the right mood, I don't like much for some reason.

Awesome! Let us know your thoughts about it Thumbs Up

Cool. Allas Sak already has some Mellotron, I wonder what they did this time. I'm too (belatedly) addicted on Allas Sak to move on yet.
I'm curious about that one, I'm waiting for the next Vangelis craze Tongue

It's interesting that there are so many trios out there, I've come across about twenty who have come out this year alone. There are many others that I've been listening to for awhile.
I enjoyed it very much as well, it seems like a big step up in songwriting Thumbs Up They presented the album this month in my country, but I saw them last August, so I didn't feel like going through the trouble to see them again.

Hey mate, I don't have it, but I picked up the free download of it from Projekt last week. My instant thought was that while it sounds perfectly floating, it's also like a lot of his other stuff......which, I mean, I DO take the time to properly explore and see where it differentiates from his other albums, but on the surface it kind of seemed like `another Roach album', it that makes sense? It's apparently meant to be one of his most highly regarded ones by his fans, so it will definitely be one to take the proper time with.

Honestly, I was going to order the CD of it, but then came the announcement almost instantly that he would be putting out three (!)  new works in December, so I thought `Meh, I'll just order it when those other three go up'!
I get it, the last track is different from what I heard before though, with sombre piano and female vocals, very nice.

He sure know how to keep his customers.... erm fans hooked LOL

Yesterday:
Promenade - Noi al Dir di Noi
Truckfighters - V
Yawning Man - Historical Graffity (Excellent Psychedelic Tango, Gary! Big smile I remember they played two songs from it, although ØSC's Dr. Space was the guest musician here Smile)
Brand X - Moroccan Roll
Klaus Schulze - Timewind (Played side A twice by mistake, this stuff is powerful LOL)

^  Hey Sam, I agree that Historical Graffiti is excellent. You should try Yawning Sons when you get a chance.
It is members of Yawning Man and the British band Sons Of Alpha Centauri.
Their album is called Ceremony To The Sunset.

Tangerine Dream - Atem It's a scary album. Very dark, cold, swampy. I really liked it. I have this nice 1976 2LP Virgin gatefold pressing of this album together with Alpha Centauri on the other disc, which I picked up very cheaply. Though I prefer the latter, this is an amazing album still. The atmosphere is really unique on here.

Eberhard Weber - Yellow Fields Gotta love some Eberhard Weber on winter mornings. Every single one of his 70's album is delightful and stunningly beautiful. This one is no different. Fantastic electric piano work here, great sax by Charlie Mariano, and obviously wonderful sounds from Eberhard Weber himself.

Dexter Wansel - Life on Mars I rarely go to the funky side of jazz, but I really like this album. It has some very elegant moments, as well as light cheesy-ness typical of the 70's funk-jazz, but it has some spacier moments. It's great. "Rings of Saturn" is an incredible piece, really, really stunning.

Oren Ambarchi - Hubris Sam, it is a great album, thanks for talking about it, I doubt I would have encountered it anytime soon. I really like how, for a big part, it uses "traditional" electro-acoustic instrumentation for this unexplainable musical nectar.

Marshall Tucker Band - A New Life - The first of three consecutive masterpieces from these top tier Southern Rock legends. Man, I can't get over how much soul these guys have. Every one of their songs is a piece of Americana; a romantic time capsule of the America of yesteryear, with genuine grit to it. Fantastic, fantastic stuff, and this is probably my favourite from their vast discography of classics.

Outlaws - Outlaws - Woot woot! Two Southern Rock masterpieces in a row. The Outlaws are probably one of the more underrated bands out of the South. A lot of people consider them "second rate" Southern Rock, but I think that their first two albums are just as good, if not better, than anything Skynyrd or the Allmans did (and that's saying a lot). What's not to love about this album? The vocal harmonies are sublime, and the guitar interplay is killer. Seriously, all fans of rock and blues guitar needn't listen any further than Song For You to know that these guys are not your everyday southern rock group. This is a triple guitar attack. This is essential listening for anyone remotely into blues or country rock.
