Well I think Queen were pretty good, especially as a singles band, and they were brilliant onstage. Brian May's hair was pretty much inexcusable, but otherwise they were a great pop/rock band.

There are a lot of musicians for whom that statement is valid (practically any metal band from the 80s for example).

Metal did not begin in 1991. It changed then, after Metallica (the most progressive metal band ever) released their self-titled album.


My original post was actually a joke.

Anyhow, metal really changed in the 1980's when, first, Venom released "Black Metal" in 1982 and later Bathory began in 1984.

The real important breakthrough that mankind encountered with metal was the discovery of iron. As compared to bronze, it allowed to manufacture stronger and thicker blades as well as tools for agriculture. Thanks to that new skill, the human race got more chance to civilize itself. (But there was no miracle).
