Nick Fletcher - 'A Longing For Home': https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=86964.

Needs track times adding and minor edits to musicians info and the release date.

No streaming links to obtain timings from, since the album can only be bought as a physical CD or a hi-res FLAC download direct from Nick Fletcher's website, and it's still not been added to his discography on Discogs, but the info can be obtained from this review of the album: https://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog/2024/10/25/nick-fletcher-a-longing-for-home/.

Just want to give a heads up that I plan to alter/fix the artist names of two entries: Jim Sullivan (Indo/Raga) and Psychedelic Monsterjam (Krautrock)

Sullivan should be Big Jim Sullivan, as that's how he was billed on each of his records, and secondly as it differentiates him from the non-prog American singer-songwriter who disappeared.

Psychedelic Monsterjam should be Neumeier - Genrich - Schmidt, which others who wrote reviews have noted (Psychedelic Monsterjam is instead the name of their first collaborative album).

Could someone with sufficient authority delete the two albums below?

https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=28314

https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=28315

They belong to the group Moebius and were erroneously added to the page of Dieter Moebius of Cluster. While they would be more appropriate on Steve Roach's page, they're not proggy enough for the website (IMO) and should've been evaluated separately.

^ Just a thought, I could alternatively reuse these album pages by overwriting the existing details with those of a couple of Natural Snow Buildings releases (eg 'The Winter Ray' and 'Daughter of Darkness') later this evening to save having to ask Ian to delete them (since Greg has said he is taking a break for a while over the festive period).

^ Good point, which I hadn't considered. Embarrassed I suppose we could ask Ian to delete the ratings and then reuse the pages, but if we have to do that then we might as well just get him to delete the albums themselves. However, I always feel that it's a shame to delete albums if there's a chance of reusing them, since deleted page ID numbers don't become available again to the site's software as far as I know, and just become gaps in the database. Let's see what Eugene and Julien think.

Edit: I checked the link to an album that was deleted more than 10 years ago, and all you get now is a 'Field error' message, so the album page IDs are lost forever once they've been deleted.

^ I tried to add the two Natural Snow Buildings releases to the site anyway as new album pages. 'The Winter Ray' went through fine, but the 'Daughter of Darkness' attempt failed (twice). I thought it might be due to the size of the image being too large (an oblong cassette cover image of 600x1045px), so I resized it to 344x600px and tried again. Both times the webpage said that the information was sent successfully, but there was no sign of it on the Natural Snow Buildings main page, and when I pasted the album ID numbers that should have been assigned to these two attempts ('The Winter Ray' album ID number +1, and +2) into my browser I got the usual 'deleted album' error message, with the error apparently occurring at line 35:

ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/album.asp, line 35

This is the information that I included in both attempts (see: https://www.discogs.com/master/615278-Natural-Snow-Buildings-Daughter-Of-Darkness for details of the various issues of the album).

5xCassette Blackest Rainbow (January 27, 2009, UK) Limited edition box set of 150 copies consisting of red cassettes numbered with gold paint. The cassettes are numbered from 1-4, and the 5th tape is marked with a Ø

6xCD Ba Da Bing! - BING-088 (October 15, 2013, US) Limited edition reissue, numbered & hand-painted, with two bonus tracks from 'Daughter of Darkness V', a separate cassette that was released at the same time as the original 5-tape set

8x12" Vinyl LP Ba Da Bing! (November 2013, US) Limited edition box set reissue of 328 hand-labeled & numbered 12" LPs, available only through Ba Da Bing! mail order. There was also a special edition vinyl and CD box set, which was also available only through Ba Da Bing! mail order. The set was not numbered, and consisted of a first run of 20 copies followed by a second run of 10

Digital album Ba Da Bing! (October 29, 2013)

6xCD Ba Da Bing! - BING-088 (June 30, 2017, US) 'Summer Sale Version', with no box, no artwork, and no barcode. Six discs in generic paper disc sleeves bound together by tape and sold for a bargain price on the Grapefruit Record Club website (at the time, the exclusive Ba Da Bing! webstore) in the summer of 2017

The cassette cover image source was RYM (a PNG image, but I converted it to JPG before uploading it). It looked cleaner than the discogs version of the cover.

If anyone has the answer as to why these two attempts failed (maybe too much text in the releases information section?) then please let me know and I'll try again. If the inclusion of track listing for the 6CD version as well as the original 5 cassette version is considered unnecessary, then also please let me know. Embarrassed

^ Success at the third attempt. I edited the releases information section down to just under 1000 characters (997 instead of the original 1188) and all went well. I'm not sure about the oblong cassette cover image though, it does look somewhat out of place alongside the square CD cover images on the page, so if anyone wants to edit that (or any other aspect of the addition) then please do what you feel is necessary. Embarrassed

Edit: I tried replacing the 600x1045px image with the smaller 344x600px one to see if it looked any better, but apart from being slightly less sharp than the original image was, there was no noticeable change. Sorry I wasted album ID numbers 88230 and 88231 with my original two attempts. Embarrassed

And after all that, the two Moebius albums that were erroneously added to the page of Dieter Moebius,
https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=28314 and https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=28315, can now be deleted by our admins, as Gordy previously requested.

^Thanks for going above and beyond, David. I plan to give Dieter Moebius' profile some love and expand his discography once the two Roach releases have been deleted. Frankly he and Roedelius' page need some TLC, surprising considering their influence.

As for the NSB conundrum, I'll simply use the Bandcamp version's image, whose dimensions will conform effortlessly. Usually I also upload the original release images for albums, even when they're unwieldy and oblong, but sometimes I make an exception like in this case.

^ The band posted on their Facebook, 4th October 2024, that all versions were being released on the 50th anniversary of 'The Lamb', November 22nd, 2024. Now, on Bandcamp, it seems that the Hi Res 24 bit 96k DOWNLOAD ONLY version of the 3CD DELUXE EDITION that contains the full 'Lamb' album plus over an hour of bonus tracks is being released on 4th January 2025, and the DOWNLOAD ONLY version of the 2CD STANDARD EDITION which just contains the 'Lamb' album was released on 27th December, so it seems as though there have been some delays.

They haven't posted anything since on their Facebook, so I doubt that either version has actually gone live as yet. As for our page saying 24th December 2024 for the release date, that's most likely the date that was suggested as the release date on Bandcamp when the album was added to PA, and has probably been put back by a few more days in the meantime.

As for when the physical CDs are going to ship, I really haven't got a clue! It looks like it's just a waiting game at the moment.

Edit: This project actually started way back in 2011, so a few more days (or weeks) before it finally sees the light of day is really just a drop in the ocean. LOL

^ And a Happy New Year to you, Eugene (and Julien also). Smile

Mechanical Butterfly - The Irresistible Gravity: https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=49714 - Just needs some minor editing to Line-up / Musicians, Releases information, and track titles.

https://www.discogs.com/release/11161890-Mechanical-Butterfly-The-Irresistible-Gravity.

Track listing and timings are actually correct (apart from an unwanted 's' at the end of track 3, 'Marks Of Time'), but the first letters of each word are supposed to be in upper case according to the discography standards policy, so:

1. Suoni Dalle Stelle (1:41)
2. Labyrinth Of Doors (8:12)
3. Marks Of Time (6:49)
4. The Alchemist (9:56)
5. Emerald Tears (3:08)
6. Sparks Within A Downpour (6:21)
7. Gravity (2:49)
8. Le Fenice (5:52)

Total Time 44:48

- Francesca Pulvirenti / vocals
- Alessio Oranges / guitar
- Dario Laletta / guitar (8)
- Roberto Marano / bass (1-7)
- Gianlorenzo di Mauro / bass (8)
- Laura Basile / keyboards
- Toti Bella / drums

Glass mastered at CD-Click, Formello, Rome, Italy
Cover art by Giuliana Pulvirenti
Graphic design by Stefano Somogyi

CD Self-released - MB01 (July 12th, 2014, Italy)
Digital album (July 12th, 2014)

Hi, guys!

This is Reinaldo, a member of Sub Rosa.

It’s very important for us to update the band’s bio and photo on ProgArchives.

Our line-up has changed: two of the musicians listed on the site are no longer with us, and we have a new member.

We would greatly appreciate your help with this.

Some time ago, TCat assisted us, but after sending him several emails, we recently discovered that he retired in 2022.

Thank you so much for your kind attention!

Best regards,
Reinaldo José

Here's the photo:
https://ibb.co/61XyqVt

Here's the bio:

SUB ROSA

The expression SUB ROSA (Latin for "under the rose") means “secret” or “confidential.”

"In the Middle Ages, a rose hanging from the ceiling of a room symbolized a pledge of confidentiality among those present ('under the rose'). This tradition traces back to Greek mythology, where Harpocrates, the god of silence, enchanted a rose at Eros’ request. Eros gifted it to his mother, Aphrodite, to protect her secrets."

Formed in 2006, Sub Rosa blends elements of progressive and classic rock from the 70s, standing out for its accessible compositions, philosophical lyrics, and remarkable videos. Their conceptual works revolve around a central idea that connects their entire audiovisual production and albums.

The debut album “The Gigsaw” (2009) earned acclaim for its intricate concept, with standout tracks like “Enslavement of Beauty,” “The Order,” and “Equinox.” It sold well internationally and was re-released in 2015.

In 2021, the double album “11:11” solidified the band as one of the top names in Brazilian progressive rock, with tracks such as “Ars Regia Therion,” “Chariot of the Crowned Child,” “The P.I.G.,” and “The Illusion.” The artwork featured 22 major arcana from an exclusive Tarot deck illustrated by Marina Nunes Marques.

On Christmas 2023, the band released the single “Let’s Try Again”, an English version of Raul Seixas’ classic “Tente Outra Vez”, surprising fans with their distinctive sound that has become a trademark of Sub Rosa.

In July 2024, the band recorded the audiovisual “KriTherion” in partnership with AlterFilmes, the studio behind the short film “Tamen”. This film features a soundtrack by Sub Rosa and includes band members in both direction and acting roles.

On December 11, 2024, Sub Rosa released their third album, “AniGmA”, featuring 14 songs that showcase their artistic maturity. Standout tracks include “People Who Choose not to Live,” “The Emperor’s Old Clothes,” “I’ll Always Be There for You,” and the title track, “AniGmA”. This time, the artwork features the Minor Arcana of Swords from the Sub Rosa Tarot.

Lineup: Bárbara Laranjeira: Vocals, drums, and keyboards. Reinaldo José: Bass and vocals. Rudolf Pinto: Guitars, acoustic guitar, and vocals. Rômulo César: Drums, acoustic guitar, vocals, and keyboards.

Sub Rosa’s music and videos are available on all major streaming platforms.
