noooo... you got us all wrong mate - we are a 30+ bunch of British, European (and the occasional American) guy or gal who sit around taking the world's issues by the scruff of the neck, griping about the VR, sip real ale, discuss sheds, Jim's curries, lardy cake (rarely discuss prog) and...and...

Yay! I have just gone from very very poor to....slightly better. Between the check I got from the family and some old saving bonds, deposited $542 today. It was a large check, they all pooled some money. (Love my large Italian family).

Speaking of money....I used it wisely I'd say
4 CD's for $55. Then, via amazon, 4 more $78 (my credit card has just been paid off too, fresh!) And over half of that is from 1 CD. Hell, TWO of them were only $9 combined. I'd say today was an epic victory

Q. Why do Policemen have small balls?
A: 'Cos they don't sell many tickets.

It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

Would you like a ticket for the policeman's ball?
Sorry but I don't dance.
That doesn't matter. It's a raffle!

Driver: Why
Policeman: My chips are too hot.

Yes!
I'm back!
Despite your boarding up & abandoning The Shed, I found you again, y'buggers.
First off - many thanks for all the birthday wishes; much appreciated & Neil, we celebrated with several pints of Newfoundland's finest: Quidi Vidi 1892 (I think there may have been some Keiths Red & Rickards Weissbier involved too )
Mr Rideout & family were on as fine form as ever & the Gross Morne national park is spectacularly beautiful (loads of photos to follow as soon as I unpack the camera); speaking of the Professor, he sends his warmest wishes to all in the Greyshedgazebo - he holds you all in the highest esteem, just wishes he could understand what us Brits are on about most of the time. He may be back in the future, maybe not... watch this space.
And yes, we are already planning another trip to Newfoundland next year

You've got it all wrong - that picture is the sad result of a wiring problem with The Garten Patented Methane Accelerator Mk XVII.
Luckily, said problem was resolved a week or 2 ago so I can now reveal to the world...

Welcome back Jim, or maybe that should be 'hello hello hello' given the way this thread has been going.

Cheers Chris - all now well with the new residence? Not too far from sunny Stevenage now (and the legendary 'Mutual Friend), so maybe a get together sometime??
+++
BTW - great welcome back to work today, my colleague who sits next to me has been confirmed as suffering from Swine Flu, so the whole office is in full on paranoia mode +++shakes head+++

Don't worry Jim, just give your colleague a big hug (or just get closer, depending on sex and general level of attractiveness) and then you can have a few more days off in quarantine.

I do have a feeling many of these cases of Swine Flu aren't actually Swine Flu at all.
There's actually a cold or cold-like virus going around too. My father has been off with it and now my mother has it too. It's just a cold though.
But he still 'phoned up the Swine Flu number and got some medication reserved. So he may now statistically have it. I'm not sure.
