@Greg, thank you so much for taking over, even though you are busy atm. Tbh I only yesterday realized that you are actually an admin. lol The playlist is now updated, too.- Can I ask you for a small favour? Given the limited space in the table, could you please write: 

Camille Pépin - The Sound of Trees, mvt 4/6.

It seems more important to me that people understand that this is just one movement from that concerto. The name of the performing orchestra is shown on the record cover that appears in the video.

^ As if by divine providence, that is where the space ran out, although I had tried to shorten the song title with the help of an ampersand. If you would rather something else that would fit (that entry is maxed out), then let me know. Lewian would fit, but as I tried to keep to our Christian names... EDIT: Instead of waiting for a response, I changed it to Lewian. Some might find that a little less flattering.

Anima Mundi - Spring Knocks on the Door of Men (Mark)
This is a very long piece to begin with. Starts off with a bassoon solo after which some keyboards come in. The instrumentation is generally very keyboard-based. After 2:30 there's a restrained guitar solo, and we get a few complex rhythmic changes. From 4:30 the vocals come in. His vocal style sounds a bit like David Gilmour to me (though not so much when he enters the high register). Personally I miss an element of something more dissonant; the overall sound is very soft and, dare I say, polished, and I think it would have benefited from a more rough sound production. A too clean sound is not an advance from my perspective, but this is mainly a taste issue. The uptempo from around 15:00 is a nice change of pace.

I wrote comments on the next few songs but then made the mistake of refreshing the page meaning that my comments disappeared completely before I managed to press Post Reply. Silly me.

As I recall it:
Paolo Fresu - Luce d'autunno (Lorenzo)
We're in jazz land here, but the violin section sounds more classical. Apart from that it sounds fairly straight forward within a jazz context to my ears, but I like it nevertheless. There is a sort of "cadenza" with the flugelhorns towards the end.

Comus - Winter Is a Coloured Bird (Greg)
Very early 70's sounding folk rock from a band I admit I didn't know about until now. It sounds a bit dark to me, sometimes pretty dissonant and mysterious. Very interesting, and it should be a contender.

Tavaramarkkinat - Kevät (Pekka)
Judging by the sound production, this is from the 70's too. Very melancholic, and lyrically it is a rather unusual spring song with lines such as "spring, I am afraid of you/people". Not a happy spring it seems. Interesting song too that I probably need to listen to again.

The Flaming Lips - My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion (George)
It begins with some sound effects, and then it turns into a sort of ballad with lots of maj7's, 11's and 13's. Around halfway it gets more noisy with several distorted instruments. Sort of psychedelic.

Camille Pépin - The Sound of Trees, mvt 4/6. (Mila)
And now for something completely different. Cello and clarinet. Very rhythmical, and there are some quite strange chord changes. More instruments enter halfway, and the orchestra gradually becomes more prominent, ending with a tutti. At times it kind of reminds me of Stravinsky. Strong contender.

Nexatras - Spring Song (Cristi)
Restrained folk rock ballad with acoustic guitar strumming and some electric guitar with a volume pedal. Very laid back drums, and the vocals are very soft too. The music becomes louder towards the end. Quite lo-fi'ish sound production which I like.

Camille Pépin - time-lapse film of trees and plants growing. 

Naxatras - pre- Dark Side Pink Floyd. Spring Song, but feels more like summer evening. 

Peter Hammill - dramatic as always, Peter delivers.
