I am ok. Just contemplating on having a beer. I will have five or six good CDs to listen to later...The new Tangent is the one i'm looking forward to most...but the new stolt should be good as well...

Doing well.......Still active as it is probably one of the only decent threads left here on PA. Funny as yesterday I came downstairs and spun Stardust. Such an amazing album and even better when I just sit on the sofa and listen to it intently and with 100% attention, follow along with the lyrics. It was a ton of fun!

For me Rio Grande is easily the standout track.  Reminds me of the classic early TFK albums.

The gig that Barney mentioned was indeed great.  The third time I've seen TFK Smile

I still come and post here sometimes as well.  Always nice to see the old "faces" here Smile

Roj, totally agree about Rio Grande, best instrumental from Roine in ages.  I also like The High Road.  The rest is okay, I guess, but really not a scratch on any TFK album, except maybe the last two (IMO).

Rio Grande is the best track. Agreed. Some of the tracks are weak so skipped....but It was being compared to the new Tangent and to be fair its not in the same class...

Raven is in a class of its own. But I prefer all the Tangents output to SW...best find since the Flokis...

Yeah, not a fan of To The Bone.  Only got through it twice and haven't listened since.  I didn't much care for Insurgentes, but it's a masterpiece in comparison to TTB.  The other 3 I love.

I do prefer the Tangent overall to anything Wilson has done, though my favorite Wilson album (GFD) does rate higher than my least favorite Tangent album (NAGATB).......but not by much.

Insurgentes is drone, shoegaze style of music and very dark. I enjoy it more now than when it first came out. I like TTB because it is very good pop rock/alternative rock, which is better than any other pop rock out now. It's not Insurgentes or GFD, it has to be listened to in a more common pop vein. Nick Beggs is a super talent on bass, he is the blood of that sound, Steven ought to make sure he never loses Beggs, like he lost Marco Minnemann.

The Tangent has some amazing stuff. My problem is that I listen to so much music and so many genres that a band like The Tangent can get lost in my pot of music. Plus with so many member changes I lose touch, I like Zoltan as a drummer and now it is like a "guest spot" in the band as the drummer.

I'm looking to get into the Flower Kings. Anyone have recommendations for a first-time listener?
