Changing subject real quick: does anyone have any clue when the American accent came into being?  I realise it's different in every state but they're all fundamentally similar.

The same with Australian, New Zealander and Canadian.

I guess it's a corruption of English, the indigenous tribes and all the other nationalities over time.

I am genuinely curious though.

All the women I was/am attracted to are either in a relationship or I get the whole "you're a cool guy and all, but..." type of runaround.  Or they half pretend I don't exist. LOL  I've learned to accept it and move on, when the time/woman is right then I won't have to move on.  It's as simple (if sometimes frustrating) as that.

Last year we met up and talked prog and ate Chinese food.  This year, we met up, talked prog, went to the music store and played instruments, and ate Chinese food.
