What a lap from Hamilton, just absolutely blew everybody away! Strong laps from Kubica, Rosberg and Alonso. With the track braking up it should be an interesting race come tomorrow, possibility of seeing those starting furthar down getting into the points wiht a carful run, Webber showed what happens when you get on the marbles.

I was following this via the official live timing service from formula1.com and Hamilton was incredible even from just the timing screens through sectors 1 and 2 he was at the same pace as the Ferraris but in sector 3 he was miles ahead of everybody, how he found that extra speed I'll never know.

I'm impressed with good old Mark Webber, too bad he's on the old side. Because I really think he's deserving of a better ride seeing what he's done this year. And he HAS been stuck on many bad teams through his career, even when he was on Williams

Re Le Mans, I'm at the point when I'm happy with anyone winning, as long as it's not Audi.

I hate Le Mans.
They allow diesels, hybrids,  but no rotary after Mazda showed 'em how it's done.

That a reason to hate Le Mans? Come on, hating something as essentially ridiculous* as motorsports is a waste of time.

* as an unapologetic fan of motorsports I'm still fully aware of its absurdities, injustices and the occasional instance of gore.

I didnt know the Rotery was banned, is their a link to that anywhere? What really gets to me about Le Mans is that the diesels have an unfair advantage, hugely more powerful than the petrols by as much as 100hp, and yet the ACO, Audi and Peugeot all say that they dont, despite the obviouse evidence every time they compete in a race.

As for this year, I'm rooting for Audi only because I'm a big McNish fan, but I'drather see the Lola Aston-Martin win.

EDIT: Besides, I've heard one of the three drivers in the 91 winning Mazda, Volker Weidler, is deaf now because the 787B was so loud.

Angry
Kimi was taken out when Hamilton just blew through the red light at pit end and slammed into Kimi...

I suspect that Hamilton was told by his engineers that the pit exit would be open when he got there so was preparing to get out on to the track and catch up with the safety car. Not something anyone wants to watch but on the plus side the result of this race should be very interesting and it's going to keep the championship close too. I really hope that BMW get their first win they're certainly in the right position to do it.

It certainly looks like Kubica will get his first win now, but I'm really surprised that Kovalainen and Massa needed to pit again, chaos is the only way to describe this race but it's a great chance for the midfield to get some very valuable points.

EDIT: Well done Kubica, his first win, BMW's first win and the first victory for a Polish driver, quite incredible.

YES! Kubica gets his first win!

And what a crazy top 8
Kubica
Heidfeld
Coultard
Glock
Massa
Truli
Barrichello
and Vettel

What on Earth??
So Kubica should take the lead in the championship now
This year has been crazy

Kubica, Heidfeld, and Coultard in the podium interview room
I love it

And I don't see why the rest of year shouldn't continue as such...after 7 races I think it's safe to saw BMW Sauber is not a fluke and should keep challenging

If BMW can develop the car a bit over summer I don't see any reason why they can't win again and indeed why Kubica can't challenge for the championship.

Wow, Kubica won and takes title lead, I didnt see that comeing. He's finished every race in the points this year and been on the podium in 4 or 5 of them, he's certainly on it this year. Bad mistake from Lewis, he had the race in the bag s he was easily the fastest guy out there. Surprised how far behind Massa and Heiki ere, i thought they would have come through better.
