Lucky you... I cannot make my computer run a workstation program, so I have a korg M-50 workstation, that is more expensive than a decent computer and I can't sequence on it... so I'm trying to save money to buy a computer so I can start to compose and program layers... One year ago I buy that korg, good and practic, but who knew my computer sucks that much and that I don't have enough money...!!!

Danke Rico.

Ich bin überrascht, dass Sie nicht einen wunden Hintern haben aus dem Sitzen vor dem Computer so viel manchmal. Tongue

Seriously though, I'm glad to hear the move went well, Robert. Smile

I had a 5-string for a while, ended up getting rid of it (in fact, some of the money from selling it is what bought the fretless Tongue) because I rarely want or need the low B.  I've been playing my 4-strings in cello tuning anyway (CGDA) so I get a pretty great range from that.  I wanted to sell the 6-string too, but there wasn't much interest since it's an off-brand.

That stinks, if my bass ever ceases to function properly I'll probably explode.  I play it all the time I can, and I haven't found another bass which feels as nice to me and sounds like I want it to.

Which mark and model do you use...???

I sold my Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass to a guy who just wanted the neck...pretty expensive neck for him.

Anyway, I have a Spector five string.  It's a great bass...but the electronics are screwy now.  Ouch

I did play a bass I used to own at a store yesterday...it's only $199...but they way they had this particular one set up was magic.

But I'm poor anyway.

I also have an electric guitar, a red Ibanez Special Model that is just great for what I'm playing, I buy it in a discount, the only thing that I don't like of it is that it doesn't have a flor rose... but, well, I can deal with that...

Exactly, just goes to show that an instrument doesn't have to cost outrageous prices in order to be amazing for you.

I've got other basses as well (a fretted 4-string Ibanez P-bass and a no-name fretted 6-string and an upright bass), but this one gets about 99% of my total playtime or more.

Strange man... a Squier fretless... well... who would expect that.??! but great man... the same for me, I can change my ol' acoustic guitar.. it has 11 years and I still like the sounds and the tension from the strings and everything and the guitar was quite cheap back in those days... I guess there's something more special than marks and models, just what fits you and is made for you, it is and that's it right...???

I really love the sound of a fretless, but it's not for all styles of music.  That's why I'm trying to find a fretted bass that plays as nicely and sounds good to me.  So far I've found a couple which play well, namely Peavey Cirrus and G&L 2000 Tribute.

I abhor the sound of a fretless bass. I don't know what it is, but it makes me cringe.
