And I happen to think the lyrics of Yes are interesting and intelligent. Close to the Edge is so inspiring. I can same the same about Neal.

Really? Is anyone talking about banning Neal Morse albums? That sort of brings to mind the phony complaints of a "war on Christmas". As for Morse's albums, I enjoy his musical compositions immensely, but I find many of his lyrics lately to be ham-handed and tired. Religious and non-religious. But bad lyrics never stopped me from purchasing an album.

It was a question...not a statement and again to the general public. For example, are there more movies about death, evil, brutality, or religious movies with a good message? I am asking a question not making a statement. I think it is easier for people to discuss or be comfortable with or not really have too much of a problem with discussing evil things......versus discussing religious things. So I think that is why there is so much dislike for Neal's subject matter on a lot of his albums....it may be uncomfortable for a lot of people. It does not matter to me one bit how anyone feels, but I am just posing a question.

Speaking of being uncomfortable. Neal was uncomfortable with leaving Spock's big time! He details all that in his autobiography. That's One reason I not only love his music so much, but the man himself. It takes courage and well faith to do what he did. |

Very interesting to hear. I really wanna buy the Neal Morse Testimony book. Yes I've been a great admirer of Neal Morse and his music for quite some time now.

Morse mentions Leviticus in ? - The Old Testament is packed with extermination apologist propaganda. Religious bigots are obsessed with vengeance and punishment (usually for women) - the original sin garbage is also misogynistic nonsense. Attack a scientists cherished theory/theorem and he will try to defend it with the facts by which the theory is based. Attack the irrational beliefs of the pious and you are likely to get physically attacked, because the religious loony is likely to believe that the "god" he supports wants all non believers to die or burn in hell....
Violence in society is disturbing - I always find it laughable that you can watch (as entertainment) a man sticking a meat hook through a woman's throat, but you can't watch (on mainstream telly) him sticking his erect penis into her. It is religion that makes us so hung up about the fact that we are incorrigibly randy primates!!! Edited by M27Barney - December 14 2013 at 14:27 |
