I'll take your word for it, and also, like all pony posts I'm not watching that.

I've seen Opeth live.
I might watch the stream, but I'll probably be asleep.

I would go see Opeth live (they're coming to 2 venues near me in Sept.) but all my irl friends who like Opeth will be off in college nowhere near me to go see them with me.

Maybe I'll just go anyway.

This.

Assuming I don't wake up at the last minute before work tomorrow, I will be watching some of it.

The only girls who go to Opeth concerts are those who think they are going to see Cookie Monster and the rest of the Sesame Street gang.

Is this one any good?  Mostly instrumental or pointless growls?

It's incredibly jazzy and there's some longer instrumental sections, but there's probably enough Cookie Monster vocals that you might want to skip it, Scott.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful., October 23, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prehistoricisms (Audio CD)
This is Intronaut without the metal riffs. Thus, you get a bunch of ambient, directionless lounge music. No statement here, just mindless jazzy lounge noodling.

lol

Amazon reviews are so biased though.
It's either 99% 5 star or 99% 1 star most of the time LOL

This says avoid:

The lyrics are indecipherable and the vocals don't add much, but as an instrumental combo, these guys smoke.

But this says hmm:

Not recommended for people looking for brutal, anger-driven music. Don't get me wrong: extreme music is awesome, but this album is not it. This is definitely more of a 'close your eyes and experience it' album.

But David's comment says "Stay away" so I will probably go with that.

It's pretty much a combination of those 2 reviews. Now if it was entirely instrumental, I'd tell you to pick it up in a heartbeat.

Actually, that wouldn't be a bad idea if Intronaut re-released Prehistoricisms as an instrumental album someday... Big smile

I agree. It only starts with DEI and goes up to the present day. Tongue

Ah sweet! Glad we're in agreement! Cool

I do like Catch 33 a bit though. Better than Chaosphere and certainly that train wreck of Nothing!
OH! And obZen...even back when I was a fanboy I hated that sh*t!
