Although I would be very interested to know who this Steven Wislon fellow is, that he alludes to in that list of his collection! LOL

Not me.  I would love to have it, though.  The original Up the Downstair also sounds like it would be awesome to have; I only have the recent K-scope reissue with GH on drums.  Still love it, though.

Yeah, I've got the Special Edition, it's pretty cool. I ended up getting the DTS DVD-A version as well, as it has the bonus tracks Half Light*, Mother & Child Divided* and Revenant, plus extra stuff.
*I absolutely love these two tracks, too!

Got the Limited Deluxe Edition of Insurgentes as well. Really nice packaging to look through whilst listening in 5.1. I love that so many releases are done in DTS surround.

I noticed in this thread there's been mention of "Out Absentia", the In Absentia outtakes.

I've got the songs; most are demo versions of the same tracks from IA, but there are a couple that aren't anywhere else. "Wet Ribbon" is a fairly heavy track, with some harmonies in the chorus, and it goes for a bit over 7 minutes. "Imogen Slaughter" is a short track with guitars chugging all the way through. SW's vocals are spoken word during the versus then sings the chorus. There's also a 16 minute version of Strip the Soul.

Would have been good to see an official release of Wet Ribbon, it's a pretty good track.

Has everyone heard Meantime from the IA sessions? It was made available as a download only, it's a really good mellow track.

I've got Meantime. It's a very good, and unique, PT track IMO. Sounds quite different to their other stuff.

I also...ahem, got sent Out Absentia by a PT fan in the UK.

Own both the  Sp Ed and the DVDA versions.

For the Sp Ed - think of an extra thick digibook version of the album.  Good stuff.  However - the DVDA copy does have some extra tracks on it.

^ Yeah, I also have "Meantime"; really nice song.  I would really love to hear the Out Absentia demos one day... I believe SW worked with Mikael Akerfeldt on 'Wet Ribbon.'

BTW, I just realized that I don't have Metanoia.  What exactly is it like? I know it's all instrumentals...

Another forum member described it as 'Porcupine Jam', which is a great definition. It's PT doing free improvisation, during the Signify recording sessions... The main piece which came out of this was Intermediate Jesus.

It's good if you like spacey improvisation, although most of it isn't as strong as Intermediate Jesus IMO.

Yeah, I.E.M . is a great little side project; I'm yet to invest in Bass Communion, though.

I just did so recently, they're pretty much entirely ambient and you can barely hear hints of PT in their music.

I found No-man pretty hard to get into as well.  Then I bought Schoolyard Ghosts, which helped; it's a pretty good album.

I don't mind the music of some of the No-man albums, especially Wild Opera, but find Tim Bowness' s breathy vocals a bit distracting.

Do you have the IEM boxset, or any of the IEM albums? Coz that's probably the closest thing to compare Mentanoia to and maybe Voyage 34... Although it is undenyably PT. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I quite like it, although you do have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. Some of the tracks are a bit similar to the 3rd and 4th Voyage songs.

Really enjoying I.E.M and Blackfield lately, the live in NYC DVD is great stuff.

Also, just thought I'd give this thread a bump and with Jordan (Ptkc123) a happy birthday!
