A couple of very nice "Berlin School" duos to savour who've probably never even been to Berlin, as they're all from the county shires of merry old England, but if you like the sound of Tangerine Dream, then..... (you know the rest) Wink

ARC (Ian Boddy & Mark Shreeve)

Code Indigo (Robert Fox & David Wright)

5 stars 1986: Legend (soundtrack) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84jvSHmXsuA

Legend is Tangerine Dream's 28th album overall and their 8th soundtrack album - and what a soundtrack it is!! This is easily Tangerine Dream's best soundtrack so far for me. The beautiful melodies contained within this album just blew me away the first time I heard it. It felt almost as if I'd entered a magical fantasy world of goblins and unicorns where anything is possible. Legend has it that Jerry Goldsmith submitted the original orchestral score for this Ridley Scott movie, but it was rejected by Universal Pictures as they deemed it unlikely to appeal to the "youth market". Tangerine Dream were contracted to come up with a new score for the movie, resulting in one of their most outstanding film scores ever!  Star Star Star Star Star

This song is "Loved by the Sun" and it's loved by me too. Heart No prizes for guessing who the featured vocalist is. Smile

Hyberborea is Tangerine Dream's 20th album overall and their 13th studio album. In Greek mythology, Hyperborea was an idyllic and magical land where the sun shione for 24 hours a day. A bit like the North Pole then, only a lot warmer and without the aurora hyperborealis. I'm not sure if Hyperborea is an idyllic and magical album, but it's still pretty good as Tangerine Dream albums go. Hyperborea is significant for being Tangerine Dream's last studio album on the Virgin label, marking the end of an era for the band, and I'm happy to say, they departed the Virgin label on more amicable terms than Mike Oldfield later did.  Tongue

This was my gateway album into the world of TD. I have fond memories of this and believe I bought this after hearing one of the tracks on a radio show called Stars End, broadcast in Philadelphia on WPXN back in the mid-1980s. Back then the show was broadcast very late at night on Fridays and Saturdays and I would listen to it with my headphones on and the lights out. If I could pull my stereo out into the backyard, this would have been great to listen to under a starry night.

Two other artists I discovered on that show were Mark Shreeve (which you've reviewed in the past) and Richard Pinhas. Like you, I'd give Hyperborea 4 stars too.

I'm not being aggressive (how?) or trying to put you down. I don't know how you are reaching this conclusion.

Let's stop, we've done enough damage to this thread about an (otherwise) great band.

"denigrating emoticons":

and similar videos, or whatever you call them.

So you're still at it.
Sometimes an image, a photo and even an emoticon speak louder than a hundred words.

The only denigrating emoticons are these ones (which i stay away from)

Yes, I should have written "the forest" in stead of "the wood", sorry, and the meaning is that somebody is so focused on the trees (details), so he/she can't see the forest (the entirety/the whole context).
And I wished that you saw things more in their context. For instance this time, there was no reason to intervene, as there was only little off-topicness, and some off-topicness, with maybe some very positive contents, is good for the interacting and the whole atmosphere on the forum.

there's nothing constructive about it, you say "you cannot see the forest because of the trees" to someone who does not understand something obvious, which used here makes no sense. What is it what i do not understand? What am i being accused of not being able to understand? Confused

All I did was point out your off-topicness. My mistake... You can do whatever you want, derail threads and so on. Ouch

I'll try not to get distracted again, so I'll leave you two to argue amongst yourselves while I have a listen to Tangerine Dream's Legend soundtrack. Smile

I'm not arguing. You don't seem to be bothered by what's happened, whatever...
