No? I thought his role was pretty prominent on the debut record and that he would be working hard with the other lads in the band to take Unreal City to another level? Just a guess though. You would know better than I.

Hmmmm, I kind of assumed he had more of a `mentor' role, Nick?! A `Master Splinter' if you will!

Going to have to go and dig the CD out now!

TMNT reference may be the appropriate response. Splinter indeed. ;)
Wish I had a CD copy. I just have an I Tunes copy...in 24/192k no less. ;)

Hello everyone.

Fabio Zuffanti has been a great mentor and he's a great friend of us.
His support during the recording sessions of "La Crudeltà Di Aprile" was very important and we're very happy he was there as our artistic director!

But well, Unreal City is not a Zuffanti project and he has never been involved in any composition step and did not play any instrument on the album :)

We are now about to enter studio to record our second album which will be released in January 2015 under AMS label and no longer under its sub-label Mirror; we are grateful to AMS direction for believing in our project and giving us support for this new album.

Fabio Zuffanti will no longer be involved as artistic director, we made this decision together in order to let Unreal City grow as band.

We are close friends and we wish him the best we can for his great solo project (we just played together in Terra Incognita Festival in Canada last week) but now it's time for us to stand on our feet :)

Thank you for the info Mrs Clegg! Is your husband a Corporal?! Sorry, lame Pink Floyd joke, hope you get it!

Unreal City put out a truly superb debut, so much confidence and talent already on display. Best of luck for the future and the follow-up album!

No, that's alright, I was worried it was a little too obscure a Pink Floyd reference these days!

and yes, drifing off topic, Pink Floyd weren't even Italian!

It's OK, we all get three warnings!

Well thank you for following up and confirming my inquiry. I am really looking forward to round 2 !!!
Just to let you know, Clegg I put La Crudeltà Di Aprile in my top 10 for 2013 album releases.
I felt it was really just that good. What an incredible debut and my time in the recording studio be a pleasant and fun journey for the next album. Can't wait.

I've currently got Latte E Miele's 'Passio Secundum Mattheum' going on the turntable - not one I return to often, some of those massed vocals don't work for me but the music is great. A difficult album to get my head around for years. Not something I'd consider a favourite.

Some of the regulars in here consider that one of the absolute Italian greats, Tom! I think it's a superb album, but it's not quite as special to me as endless other RPI discs.

The band have just released a new recording of it on the Black Widow label, with a few notable Italian prog guests to read the narrated parts, and there's extended passages and extra bits worked through it. It's a very nice `reboot', I'll be reviewing it at some point soon.

You might want to have another look at Greg Walker's most recent newsletter, check out the `Italian' CD listings to find out exactly what Greg personally thinks of the origina! High praise indeed!

^ I'm just up to the big Pipe Organ section on side 2 - I am enjoying it for the most part, it may just be the sort of tinny production where the vocals tend to sound somewhat shrill and dated. It's the Akarma vinyl and the sound isn't as clear as usual. I'd probably say it's a 4 star album, and I'm curious with the updated version.

Kangoo: Great news then! I love that thing. Been spinning it a lot lately together with Battiato's first 4 albums. 'Clic' in particular is clicking with this Dane, I might add:-)
