There was a poll that came out (probably nearly a month ago now) asking who black democrats wanted Biden to pick for VP, which Warren won (followed closely by Harris). OF course, this is only one poll and I can't remember who ran the poll.

That said, I can't imagine Biden wouldn't pick a black woman. I like Susan Rice, personally, but I don't know if I'd put money on her being the pick.

I'm hoping it's Rice. Harris doesn't seem too popular. I actually read a youtube comment where some woman said she would vote for Trump if Harris is the VP nominee. Kind of a dumb thing to say but I guess it shows how disliked she is. Many others seem to dislike her too. However, it's Joe's choice and nobody elses.

Really? I could have sworn I saw prominent black personalities say on the telly that they wanted Biden to appoint a black woman/person as the VP. It would have to be a woman because Biden locked himself into that very early, saying the VP pick would be a woman.

Whereas it should be: "This is what I stand for and what I want, and if you agree with me, then vote for me.", what you get is: "Let me know what you want, and I'll do it if you vote for me."

That's bass-ackwards.

And people wonder how Trump won. Yes of course, he was bigoted as hell and said many, many things that were completely beyond the pale. But enough voters liked his conviction to roll the dice. There's a message there for the Democratic Party if they want to hear it. And it's NOT yes, move so far to the right that Carlson can't win in 2024, it's to learn to stand for something, anything at all.

This election will test whether it's true indeed that you can restore US politics back to the 'normal' coalition-building driven pandering. Not much longer to go now, just a few more months.

This is a real gem. An executive order that suspends payroll taxes for the rest of the year, then you have to pay all of that money owed in January. However, if he wins the election, he promises you won't have to pay that back and he'll make the suspension permanent. Never mind that this is unconstitutional and will destroy both social security and medicare. This is a bribe that stupid people will fall for.

This executive order to pay 400 Dollars a week seems to be a trumpian dick move of genuinely genius quality. So Trump is a genius after all, at least when it comes to screwing everyone over.

As such an executive order seems outside the presidential scope, this move sees to it that the whole process will now be stuck in the courts for ages, probably resulting in payouts for nobody for perhaps forever. At the same time it's blocking any alternative payments, and Trump gets to blame the democrats for the fiasco by accusing them of objecting to that measly 200 Dollars a week generous offer the republicans were squeezing out of some stinking orifice.

I can't help but admire this, the dickishness is through the roof. Although I'm not sure why he didn't go the whole hog and promise everyone at least 5000 Dollars a week. That would have looked so much better on the reelection posters.

Yes, she isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but she does know how to govern. I seem to recall that someone in this thread predicted her several months ago.

Well, she was a leading candidate since they started doing the veepstakes watch, so its not like its a surprise or anything.

Not my first choice, obviously, but obviously not something that is a make or break situation for me. Hopefully this will give him whatever push he is expecting from the announcement.

I was thinking the same thing. I personally like her but there seems to be a lot(even dems)who don't. As for your second sentence I hadn't thought of that but who knows.

Anyway, I think a lot of women don't like her because she has a very strong personality and I think on some level women are either put off by it or jealous of it or both. Maybe some men too. I'll try not to speculate too much though.
