The cover did reflect the mood & feeling very well, and not what one expected--  I wasn't there (way too young) but I'm surprised it didn't depict Janis or Hendrix onstage.   The shot they used was a better choice I think.

Maybe jumping the gun a little but this doesn't sound like it's going to have a positive outcome

RIP Mick Slattery, Original Hawkwind Guitarist who played alongside Dave Brock in 'Dr Brocks famous cure', Group X and Hawkwind zoo. He left just before HW cut their first lp in 1970 and was replaced by Huw Lloyd Langton. He later played in Nik Turner's Space Ritual. He died peacefully, at home on 17th March after a short illness aged 77.

Excuse me for intruding on this solemn thread with my nit picking, however Chicago did not do the soundtrack to "Electra Glide in Blue".

The soundtrack was assembled by the director James William Guercia, who did indeed produce Chicago among many others, but Guercia mostly did the soundtrack himself, with the inclusion of songs by The Marcels and Madura.

Love that last scene and last song.  My favorite last scene from any movie from that period.  I remember every detail.
