anyone follow the complete trainwreck that is the Senate.. and their 'stimulus' bill. hahahah.
you know.. you might almost be surprised.. but you really cant anymore
2 billion dollars for a new FBI headquarters.. to be built where.. umm hmm.. right across the street from the Trump Hotel here in DC. Why the rush.. why is it 'hidden' in a stimulus bill.. the site is otherwise ready to be bought and a sw**kier and rival hotel to Trumps to be built unless the government buys the site. Love that swamp don't you Trump voter...it is the very people you elect.
oh it gets better..
30 Billion for new fighter jets and ships for the Navy... money that was redirected (not by Congress of course) to pay for the border wall
already the Democratic soundbites are golden.. ships and jets don't feed children or fight a virus..
wow... it really does seem like the Republican Party does want to blow its own brains out... it is really that stupid and out of touch.. it seems that way.
not that any of that will likely fly and get through the final bill..it sounds like even enough Republicans see tit for the complete insanity that it is...but as that trainwreck rolls through the Senate..
unemployment benefits and eviction protections.. lapsed.. which they had months to deal with. This might well be the final nail in the coffin for their chances to keep the Senate.

Slightly OT, how on earth did antifa become a term of abuse? In Germany and Italy we had enough of fa in the past (and some in the present, if as a minority) that I'm happy about as much antifa as we can get. And the Americans were not that keen on our fa either.
I think it's because "antifa" sounds like a suspiciously Arab phrase, like intifada .

easy ... one word
politics... and even better..
it is page 2 of the Republican political playbook and been since Willie Horton.. when you are ideologically bankrupt and have no real solutions to problems .. just amp up the fear factor and scare voters. Liberal ..Libtard..came and went years ago as an insult.. Pelosi/Schmer as boogymen crashed and burned in 2018..
even they can't paint Biden as a socialist...
so they needed a new one for 2020 and Antifa it is... and never mind if far right extremist are as much a problem out in the streets today.. but are also far more dangerous and violent. .so much so even this current government and the FBI had to recognize that.

Does anyone else fear that come elections there will be a stay-at-home order combined with a ban on absentee voting in certain areas? Such as predominantly black neighborhoods an poorer areas? Because of public health issues?

We really have a terribly low incidence of fraud here in Oregon with mail-in voting only. The only fraud I'm worried about is 45 trying to stay in place, even in a landslide loss, if that is what happens. The closer it is, the more he'll squawk. But I don't think our military will let him. I just hope we can get an unprecedented amount of Democratic voter turnout, no matter how it's done.

There's enough on his Twitter and televised press conferences for congress to invoke the 25th before we even get to an election. Already impeached and shown he can't lead a bowling ball out of a wet paper bag. But this crew in the GOP run senate is hamstrung, hogtied and impotent.

Yeah, at this point I have just about as much faith in the military as I have in checks and balances. Especially as Mark Esper is the Secretary of Defense.

So what happens if the generals disobey the appointee? Would that be a coup? Especially if it's about the presidency? Or would that be OK because you suddenly have 2 active presidents? Do the generals get to pick? Along election results or against? Whoever promises the highest military budget? Or do they stay in control until things calm down in 20 or 30 years time, like in other third world countries? Sorry, but that what it looks like from where I'm standing. Tricky.
At one point Trump was collecting generals like Pokemon. They likee or dislikee? Then he dropped them again. Baaad or gooood?

Trump is a barely functioning imbecile. He doesn't know where to vote, and he doesn't know how to vote. He has to have a paper ballot to mail in because he needs help with filling in the boxes. Like he paid someone to complete his SATs. Embarrassing.

Oh I think he'll be able to find the right box. Perhaps. After appropriate training. After all, that cognitive test he's bragging about proves that he'd be allowed to get on a bus on his own without accompaniment.

I have decided that Jim Jordan actually is the stupidest person in Washington right now. Yes, even dumber than Trump. Trump at least knows how to take advantage of his base. Jordan on the other hand is just like the ugly puppy that nobody wants that follows Trump around waiting for any morsels of praise and a pat on the head while he says, "Good boy Jim, you will sit next to me on my right hand when I come into my kingdom."
