He is in Norfolk now. As for wishing him Happy Birthday, I am going to send him a PM, seen as he sometimes logs on the site. Hopefully the transition was not too hard on him... I know he's been very worried about his job for a long time.

Jared is a top guy indeed, let's hope we see him around soon.

I'm off camping in the New Forest in about an hour, looks like it's going to be a nice weekend weather-wise (surely that's against the law in the UK?).

Have a good Bank Holiday everyone!

Norfolk eh??  LOLLOL (my home county Wink)

Well maybes me and El Dingo should pick him up and show him some of the local watering holes!!!

Did he say exactly where in Norfolk, Raff?

He did PM me a month ago to say work was difficult but hasn't answered my PM that I sent him a couple of weeks back.

Hopefully he'll be in touch soon, it would be great to have him over for a takie and some "dog".

I believe Norfolk is also the original home of our Rach.

It's a County I've never been to though.

It is indeed!

Rach lived very close to where I was born and the location of West Runton Pavilion the premier gighouse for Norfolk back in the 70's and 80's.

I'm going to be working in Norwich quite a bit over the next few months. As much as I love the place, (my maternal family come from the Suffolk/Norfolk border and I spent most summer hols in the 70s along the Norfolk coast), I hope my company doesn't want me to relocate there.

Actually, the last time I was in England (summer of 2006), I spent the last three days in Norwich. It was my first visit there, and I loved the place - even though it's somewhat awkward to get there by train. I feel so bad that I've not told El Dingo yet... I keep forgetting to do so!

Anyway, Jared is now in Wells-next-to-the-sea, at the local YHA hostel. He sent me the link to the hostel's web page the last time I heard from him, about two months ago.

It's a 5 hour drive, so staying in a Holiday Inn Express or something equally as dire.

If I was to live there I'd want to live on the coast (I'm a seasider myself), but it's too far from wife's family to want to live there...

...whaddamisaying!!! Confused ... sounds ideal LOL

Wells is only 40 miles north of here along the East Coast of England.

(Who knows I might just turn up and ask for some accommodation; and see if he remembers me!!!Wink LOL)

Dean: If you get bored and fancy chilling with a couple of beers in one of the locals by the river let me know. I'd be honoured to meet the darqness! Tongue

LOL I know - but you've never met me Wink

Sounds like a plan though - don't know exactly when it will be, but certainly starting in June sometime.

I'll be at a conference in Cambridge for a couple of days in June. Don't know the schedule yet, but could be a chance to meet up with Dean and Jared?

Cambridge is a fair distance from me, so I do not suspect I will be able to make it.  I would love to meet you guys though not just because you will actually make me feel young but I also because I like you all. Wink
