Also, I bought Bioshock 2 but haven't played it yet.
You are so wrong it is not even funny

I'm so correct that it's mind boggling you can't understand it.
because it's so shocking that you are that delusional that you think you are right.

Whatever, obviously your taste in video games roughly matches your taste in music.

Siam, I've not bought any new music for ages.  Besides, this is a laptop harddrive and although I want a new external (and a USB 3.0 one too), it's not really wise to have games installed on an external.  I've uninstalled quite a few games already... grrr.
I bought a 250GB hdd for my ps3 for $40, it uses a laptop drive.

I don't really want an external drive permanently connected.  I guess it'll be fine if I stick games and stuff on it though.  I've read that migrating Steam over to an external works fine.  There's usually a slight degradation in game speed though.

Does anyone run newer games from an external?

One of my friends from school had all his games on an external, they seemed to run fine.

As far as I know, you can install most games to an external hard drive unless they force you to use a particular directory when installing.

I know you can install them but USB drives don't tend to be as quick as internal ones.  So I was more concerned about the speed of the games when they're being played?

But this is why I want a USB 3.0 drive, as apparently it's much quicker.

I need to get a USB 3.0 ExpressCard first though.

I cannot afford all this... I don't even have a Printer!

Buy an internal drive. They are dirt cheap.

I already have a 250gb Internal drive I'm using as an external.  It's noisy though.

It's still got space on it too.  I've backed up a lot of my music on there too.  I still keep it all on my laptop drive though as I don't like to keep my external plugged in and switched on all the time.

I could do with a 1tb minimum though really.

Uninstalling and re-installing games on there though isn't really worth doing on such an old drive.

1 TB drive runs about $60 over here, you can get a 2 TB drive for like $70

Indeed I can.  I'd like a USB 3.0 external case though.  I can get an external for not much difference in price either.  I'm not worried about having all those security features on them either.

I just use a SATA to USB cable, since I only use it for backups.

I have a 1TB drive on my lappy and a 2 TB drive for backups.

If I could fit a second drive in my laptop, I would but I don't think I can.

When I upgraded I just made a direct copy of the drive in my laptop.

I could also buy one of these and avoid using USB.

And yes, I could buy another internal and direct copy the contents of this drive to the new one and then fit the new one in as a replacement.

Did you encounter any boot-up problems at all?
