Laz, are you familiar with Omega Point?  I believe that they are from your neck of the woods and might fit in with your tastes.  It includes members/ex-members of The Reasoning. I did a topic search and they weren't found.  I suppose I should check out your site to see if they are listed.  Music | Omega Point (bandcamp.com)">Music | Omega Point (bandcamp.com)

Hi Scott. Great to hear from you. It's been a while since we spoke here.

Yes, I was aware of Omega Point given The Reasoning connection, but I have not reviewed them. I think that perhaps that should be rectified!

Tonight, I have uploaded a review of the new album by Grice, the British art rocker. Polarchoral is a stunning album - to read and listen to a few tracks, simply go to my homepage and click on the relevant button.

I have also updated the Ale of the Week page. Again, go to the homepage and click away.

Video of the week is a recent live Magenta because Jared & I are off to see them on Saturday! Happy days - please enjoy.

That will be a fun show to attend.  Sadly, I will probably never get a chance to see them live in person.

Hi mate. Yep, really looking forward to it. I will be getting to Pentyrch (the pub over the road) about 5.00 p.m., so 7.00 for (in my case) salad will be fine. I will send you my mobile number by email before Saturday.

BTW, I got The White Witch CD last week - simply superb, and I am hoping to post a review on Friday night.

I'll make it around 6.30pm then; see you at the small bar in the venue around then?  I'm pleased you've got the White Witch; I might get mine at the concert if they are selling there. I'll look forward to reading your review. About a fortnight ago, I had a run through of all Magenta's discography to freshen up on things Smile

Every few years in the autumn, they perform an acoustic set in a Welsh chapel which has been converted into a small venue, bar with pizza kitchen and recording studio. We'll raise a glass to you, Scott.. Cool

I really enjoyed your album review for Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells II on your new website. I could become a regular visitor there. Thumbs Up

I thought it best to start from the beginning, seeing as your earliest reviews were for albums released in the year 1992. Smile

There will be earlier ones. I have only got to 1992 from historic reviews originally posted here. I have been pretty much overwhelmed with artist submissions lately.

Bloody typical, by the way. Had a great night at Magenta with Jared, stopped off with taxi on the way back to get a couple of cans to have in the room to catch up on the rugby, and I STILL wake up at 5.00 a.m. as I seem to do every bloody morning now.

If anyone has a cure for this, now is the time to post!Dead

Tonight's main update is a double Magenta header! A review of their brand new CD, The White Witch A Symphonic Trilogy and of their live show near Cardiff last Saturday. Simply go to the homepage at www.lazland.org and click on the relevant buttons.

Also, Video of the Week this week is the brand new Riverside advance single from Inside Out. The new album is released in January.

Enjoy!

Just walked in from work, Steve... I'll make that part of my morning's read. Am also very interested in reading your thoughts on the new Riverside, a band I have always enjoyed.

I hope you are feeling refreshed after your few days away... Smile

Yes, thank you. I enjoyed the break and the boy seems to have had everything under control. Now to plan that break in Malta next year….Wink

Not much to read on Riverside, just the video, I am afraid.

Yes, it was a great evening, Steve... shame you don't live nearer and could have joined us.

Thanks for the review and kind words Steve; you've done them proud in both reviews, as indeed they did us proud on Saturday night. Clap

Tonight's update is a review of Leo Carnicella's debut full-length album, Super Sargossa Sea which features a guest appearance from the legendary Martin Barre. You can read the review and listen to the music by going to my homepage and clicking on the button link which, remarkably, still allows you to enjoy music and words without any shockingly annoying adverts.

I might update the historical album reviews later depending upon time available - I am staying in a hotel in "lovely" Leeds tonight with work. Bloody good job retirement is beckoning in a couple of years time!
