Limiting this to either 10 studio albums or 10 studio albums I like from an artist takes out some of my very favorite bands. Led Zeppelin, Chicago, Steely Dan, Gentle Giant, ELP, Porcupine Tree and Mahavisnu Orchestra are some of the casualties.
With that criteria in mind:

Yes

1) Close to the Edge
2) Relayer
3) Yes Album
4) Fragile
5) Going for the One
6) Tales from Topographic Oceans
7) Drama
8) 90125
9) Magnification
10) Tormato

Genesis

1) Selling England by the Pound
2) A Trick of the Tail
3) Foxtrot
4) Wind & Wuthering
5) Nursery Cryme
6) Trespass
7) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
8) Duke
9) Abacab
10) Genesis

Rush

1) A Farewell to Kings
2) Hemispheres
3) Moving Pictures
4) Permanent Waves
5) Signals
6) Power Windows
7) Grace Under Pressure
8) 2112
9) Caress of Steel
10) Fly by Night

Art Zoyd are so hard... they have so much music that I love. Haven't listened to some of it in ages just because it's so much. I'm just listening to Le marriage du ciel et de l'enfer, which is brutally good, and I had almost forgotten about that.

Häxan
Berlin
Metropolis
Phase V
Marathonnere I
Le mariage du ciel et de l'enfer
Musique pour l'Odyssee
Faust
Phase IV
Eyecatcher

(For once very different from what Greg has.)

Jethro Tull

Heavy Horses

Aqualung
A Passion Play
Stormwatch

Thanks for all the lists thus far. I have not been able to bring myself to arrange my lists in a way other than chronologically even if I do have preferences, but here's an attempt du du jour even if it ends up being quite arbitrary. My most recent listen is College EP, some great music on it, but it seems inessential to me...

Radiohead

Kid A (2000)
OK Computer (1997)
A Moon Shaped Pool (2016)
Amnesiac (2001)
In Rainbows (2007)
Hail to the Thief (2003)
The Bends (1995)
The King of Limbs (2011)
Pablo Honey (1993, "Blow Out" is great)
College EP (2001)

Steve,

When I was putting my lists together, I chose artists that are among my very favorites, artists that are in my top 10-15 all-time. Steely Dan, Mahavisnu Orchestra and Led Zeppelin, for example, come up short with having released less than 10 studio albums.

Gentle Giant, ELP and Chicago fall short due to not having 10 studio albums I like. I'm a massive fan of each of these bands.

Gentle Giant's first 8 albums I quite like. Acquiring the Taste and Three Friends are among my favorite albums all genres included.

My love for ELP is based on the first 4 studio albums and 2 live albums, which solidified them as one of the very best Progressive Rock bands. Those albums spent a lot of time on the turntable. After that, it falls apart. I like some of Works, but beyond that the other ELP albums I don't care for.

Chicago it is about the Terry Kath years. The first two albums are phenomenal. The rest of the Kath years Chicago discography is at a minimum solid if not excellent. But, after his unfortunate death they became a different band.

That brings me to Alan Parsons Project a band I like, but nowhere close to a top 20 artist for me. So, I did not think of them. But, seeing your list made me think that all their studio releases are at least decent. So, I'll give some thought of where I would rank their discography and post later.

Lots of cool-to-me lists.

I had originally started making this topic as eight albums per act, but then thought that it was not limiting enough, and this might present a more interesting challenge. To do Radiohead, I had to not only listen to an EP I did now know, but also appreciate it. Gentle Giant is one of my favourites for its first eight albums and my favourite Gentle Giant albums are Three Friends and Acquiring the Taste (those are awesome albums).

And while I allow both albums categorised as LPs and EPs, not allowing live albums can make it harder. With Gentle Giant, I do know and like both the live Playing the Fool, but also the archival live release King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents Gentle Giant, which would bring me to ten by Gentle Giant.

^ I had to stream an EP for Radiohead to get up to ten. Magma I have lots by, including lives, and very happily I was given one live CD by a member of this forum as well as many others recently. I had heard the album, one of its best lives for me, but did not own it. Not expected by that person, but I want to send something back in return, just not sure what yet. As for The Necks, I would have a few more to go. Hanging Gardens is one of the biggest music highlights I have been exposed to in the past decade. Such a great album, imo.
