^Yes, very sad news about Justin. The worst kind of accident is to an innocent bystander. I hope he recovers completely and quickly.

Indeed. One of those unavoidable things unfortunately. Ten feet one way or the other and it's no incident atall. Though I do have to say...barring Wilson's accident and the caution flag ending...what a race at Pocono yesterday. Easily the best Indaycar I saw this year (which admittedly only consists of like maybe five races...)

Also heard that former F1 and sportscar team owner Guy Ligier died at the weekend as well, he was 85.

^Yeah, a sad day yesterday. I'm really hoping for the best with Justin Wilson, but the injury seems so similar to Jules Bianchi that I'm not too optimistic. It really was a freak thing that happened, and an unfortunate one with how fantastic that race was.
EDIT: Sad about Justin passing away from his injuries. He obviously was a great race car driver, but he also seemed like a good guy.

It's been a horrendous couple of months for the motorsports community. Jules Bianchi, Buddy Baker, Guy Ligier and now Justin Wilson.

On more positive news.
Seems JPM is the extremely likely Indy champion, by my quick maths he'd need to finish below 25th and Rahal finish 2nd to lose it to him, and in the case of Scott Dixon he'd need to win and lead the most laps with JPM finishing near the bottom. Seems like its Montoya's to lose.
Missed the Belgian GP.Shame since I love that one, but seems like a standard finish, though cool for Grosjean to grab 3rd

^Yes, JPM is the class of the field. His early wild style has been supplanted with the maturity of an elder statesman. A potent combination, for sure.

Don't forget that Sonoma is double points, so it's not over yet. Though, I'm hoping for a JPM championship.

Yep, double points so Power, Castroneves and Newgarden are all still in it as well, though Castroneves and Newgarden are real longshots (I think Newgarden needs to get pole and win with Montoya not leading any laps and being last/first retirment to win). If Montoya finishes on the podium he's champion regardless of what happens.
Definitely getting feeling sof 1999 with this title closer though.

Oh, that's right...forgot that's the new in thing, or maybe I keep blocking it from my mind because I hate it. I mean JPM has been best of the field without question, imagine if a mechanical failure was to cost him all because of double points. f**kin joke!

Sonoma for the closer? Lame for attendees. Laguna Seca Raceway would have been a better venue to end the series with a road course.

Agreed, Laguna would have been much better, and the double points only made sense last year when it was a 500 miler at Fontana, not a standard road course.
Even if Montoya has a bad weekend it'll still take a really good drive from the others to clinch it since retirments still score points (I think there's 23 cars entered and last place still gets 14 points).

WOW. Well...JPM blows it.
Seems a little harsh, he finished 6th after all but wow, can't believe he lost the title. A tie and Dixon wins out by having 3 wins vs 2. Can't get much closer than that.
Wow. Congrats to Dixon on his 4th title. The double points is what cost JPM in you think about it, but can't say it's not deserved...Dixon is a stud

I felt so gutted watching JPM actually have a decent race considering what happened, but lose the championship because Dixon did everything absolutely right. I can feel okay about today only because I got my picture with Mario Andretti, Bobby Rahal, Dario Franchitti, Dixon, Takuma Sato, Carlos Munoz, Josef Newgarden and Helio Castroneves today. After last year's pictures that I was able to get, I'm just missing TK from my collection now.
