I really do hope our opening ceremony is nothing like that abomination of a homecoming in The Mall (or wherever it was).
And if I ever hear Scouting for Girls, The Feeling, Will Young and McFly ever again... I may have to break something. |

I've always found oranges to be a powerful laxative, not aphrodisiac...

^ I can't stand the smell of orange peel - I love oranges, but the peel smells like puke to me.

James, can I please put in a polite request that you dont even mention Scouting for girls, in any context whatsoever... That band bring me out in hives, even more so than Nicklecak, with that bloody Rock Star song.. Sorry, thought I was in the ranting room.. |

I've become amazingly quick on the "mute" button now they're using that ing song in the DFS ads... a skill I originallyy honed for any random tv apperances by Mick Hucknall. Edited by Dean - August 24 2008 at 17:40 |

Phil Collins is on the television all the time but even he's bearable compared to Mick Hucknall and DFS adverts.
No worries, Rob, I don't want to mention that band either... they are appalling and every single song they have ever performed sounds the same and they're all about the same bloody subject. Luckily I hear them not very often... I hear Stickleback much more often and I want to throw something at the television or radio every time! Oh and almost as bad is that awful Take That song... |

^ you're not giving us much to go on there James, it's not like Take That only did one awful song, they must have done dozens, hundreds even.

The one they did this year that's played everywhere... and I mean everywhere. Any opportunity they get to play it, they will. You'd know it if you heard it. And one more thing... that Here Come the Girls song is also starting to greatly annoy me... it sounds like an old song but it cannot possibly be, 'cause I had never heard it until this year. From what I heard on their myspace page I haven't missed much. Here's hoping that they don't tour the USA anytime soon.

I really like Scouting for Girls, I love that "Elvis isn't Dead" song, it's real. I think it's probably one on the best pop songs of the year
I like Nickelback too, it's something that the kids love and we can tolerate, with three teens in the house middle ground is a valuable thing! (In fact ssssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhh! But I think the eldest has O2 tix to see them on his birthday but he doesn't know that yet!)
I don't know what Take That song you refer to James, they are not my chosen specialist subject, but I do know that "Shine" which is possibly the song you refer to cos it's played EVERY-BLEEDIN-WHERE was not actually written by the singing hamster (aka Gary Barlow) at all, it was written by an outside fella, to guarentee the boys a hit!
OH yeah all that and Orange Squash smells like vomit , I say this of course in reference to Dean's point about orange peel not just in a random way.
Ok, I have worked minimum of 12 hrs a day (sometimes 18 or 20 ) 7 days a week for the last 5 weeks............ today I AM HAVING A DAY OFF !!!!! just the one mind ,incase I start getting lazy, but I'm off to the seaside to grill some sausages, throw myself in the sea and read my book............ and not do anything work related at all!!!!! HUZZAH!
What ever you do boys, have a good one, and make it count
