I generally like Sylvian's music, his earlier (duets) albums as well. He builds very special atmosphere

absolutely agree, so-called neo-prog (read - Genesis faceless clones) is boring to death

Bloomfield and Butterfield are two great white American blues names for me , probably the best coming from late 60s

E9 is far not so interesting as their debut, or probably just too "same again"

I hear change hear , but I think they got their references to earlier jazz rock fusion so right on that first album. I enjoy crash bang of this album on most of the tracks - although the guitar doesn't sound to be in the hands of a jazzman

Matt our station manager has done something that others have failed to do in the last few years, by get all the broadcast slots filled with human presenters. So I've been happy to give up one hour of my usual Thursday night slot (to bring more variety to our station's output) and will be starting ALT2 at 9pm GMT, finishing at 11pm-ish. The rebroadcasts should be going out at the usual times.

So lots to pack into two hours of show. Thanks to David H. for getting me a promo of the up and coming British alternative rock band, Tied To The Mast's new (second?) album; (the sparse press release seems to forgotten to mention the album's title).  Another long tune from the new Elephant9 power fusion album Atlantis. Something from French guitar maestro Bireli Lagrene (playing the electric guitar for the first time in several albums), which otherwise seemed to have missed the reviewers. For the rock historians/archaelogists out there, we're dipping into a couple more 60's/70's albums (that no doubt sold less than 500 copies originally), reissued by Flawed Gems Records. Having had a go at Nektar's new album of covers last week, I started to listen to Steve Hackett's double Genesis Revisited II with some trepidation last Friday. While anchored to the original versions, the anchor chain has been allowed some slack (amazing Hackett has found two singers sounding rather like Phil Collins.....), so I quite enjoyed the album. With the BBC Radio celebrating 90 years of broadcasting today, I thought I would do some radio re-enactment, by playing Hackett's update of 70's UK student radio's most played track at finish of the show: Supper's Ready. Enjoy.
