Awesome! I bet you're glad you went then.

What was it like without Anderson?

For the most part, Benoit David sounded enough like him that I didn't really miss Jon as much as I expected.  And in certain ways it was kind of better that he wasn't there because I'm pretty certain they played songs that Jon would not have wanted to do.  And on the other hand they did nothing from TOTO, since Jon is the only one who likes that album.

Wow, interesting. Which songs did they play that you think they wouldn't have?

They played from 7:45 to 10:30, with about a 15 minute break.  At one point the power to Oliver Wakeman's keyboards went out, so they stopped the show mid-song, and Steve Howe played a 5 minute or so solo while they got the power back.  They ended up restarting the song that they were playing from the beginning so we kind of got a bit of a bonus.  Sort of.

I'd say Tempus Fugit for sure.  They also played Onward, which was Benoit David's request; although that is mostly about the vocals, so I could see Jon wanting to do that one.  They also played Machine Messiah, which I don't think I have seem them do with Jon; but I might be wrong.  They also played Astral Traveller, which was the song that Oliver Wakeman's keys went out on, so they actually played that twice.

Neat! Machine Messiah would have easily been my favorite of those, probably. That's such a great song.

Well that certainly clears up whether or not Yes without Jon would be good or not live.

They also did a Chris Squire sung song called Aliens are Us From The Future, which apparently is going to be on an upcoming solo album.

At times pretty good, but at times kind of strange.  Steve Howe left the stage for this one, so it was just the 4 of them performing it.  There was some decent keys on it.

I tried to get my friend to go with me, but she really didn't want to go, so I ended up going by myself.  I was going to buy 2 $20 seats, but since I went by myself I decided to buy a $40 seat.  The most expensive seats were $75.  My seat ended up being on the floor in the 8th row, center stage.  That made the experience that much more awesome.  I took a bunch of pictures with my cell phone.  I'm not sure how well they will come out though.  I had a hard time with Steve Howe, the way that the lights were on him he always ended up whited out.

Awesome. I know that when I had seats on S&A tour for this year, as opposed to general lawn last year, it definitely helped the experience.
