You'll get used to it. I thought that 'Some Questions About Hats' was the most absurb thing I'd ever heard the first time.

War is a wonderful track!
Definitely try News from Babel, the vocals are less silly.

I've got that and "In Praise of Learning" - but I want to play some more of earlier HC before I dive into them. All this stuff is really out of my musical comfort zone - I'm seeing how far I can push. I've been rewarded thus far with Kew. Rhone. and the first two Cow records, so I'll keep going. Totally non-Canterbury but I'm also giving Magma a go.

good luck with each of those, NaturalScience. Looking through your previous posts, it's like you've casually ordered a lot of the world's best music in one month o:)

Thanks, laplace, I've been more excited about music the past few months than ever before in my life - it's been a terrific voyage of discovery, no question about it. Plus my boss looked at my iPod the other day and had the most confused look on his face.

Listen to "In Praise of Learning" next, it's better than "Desperate Straits" and you may enjoy it more.

By the way, listened to the Egg debut today and I thought it was excellent. Really love Mont Campbell on vocals, and Clive Brooks delivered some great playing on the record. That other guy that's in the band was pretty good too.

What are your thoughts on Spirogyra, Pat?

Beautiful album. Gaskin's vocals are wonderful and haunting. So far it's getting better with every listen. Thanks again for recommending it.

I don't have any Spirogyra, I need to rectify that at some point.

As I've stated numerous times before, In The Western World cranked to full volume will never fail to give me goosebumps and euphoria. Especially the ending.

Through shipping errors, I have acquired a duplicate copy of the National Health Complete set...in an attempt to be delicate, I would say that anyone "interested" should send me a PM.

Terrific track to end that album, though I'm not crazy about the "mad" vocals in parts of it done by Martin Cockerham.

They were a grower on me. The whole album just improves every time, really.

Would anyone like to comment on the Uriel album? I can acquire it easily from the egg archive but it's a tad pricey.

Arzachel?
Get it, it's great. One of my favorite psychedelic hard-rock albums. It's full-blown acid-trip psychedelia, though, expect nothing less.

I feel only the last track on Arzachel was worthy, but it's all great, nonetheless.
Pat, I have Complete already, oh well!

I figured all the "regulars" here would already have the requisite NH albums in some form. Maybe I'll search for some nearby second hand shop, or if all else fails, ebay.

Someone on P.A. will want it, I'm sure.
Going back to Arzachel. It's a good album, but only the last track is fantastic in its psych vain. The rest are bluesy (or as Laplace says: bloozy). You'll most likely enjoy it, but it's not as proggy as Egg or Khan.
