Ah, I may have to try that one.  They got too electronic and cheesy for me after their debut.

It's like, catchy but strange.  Sort of like avant-easy listening

edit: in a good way

I may not like it then.  I generally don't like catchy unless it's Jean Louis. LOL

Agreed, the glitch & other programming sounds they used back then were their least inspired idea. There's nothing like that right now, only a few analog keyboard sounds. I think you'd like the new album.

I said like, not the thing itself.

Also, that one music video of theirs is hilarious.

It's sort of like Zorn's "smooth jazz" era meeting Jean Louis halfway

Cool, I'll check them out again some time.  I did enjoy A Livingroom Hush... just not the albums after that.

Also try Ultralyd.

Zu's Carboniferous is much more like Jean Louis.  Kind of a cross between Jean Louis and Shining (in their decent days).

That one's on my list

I like how all the ZARTs and shred room inhabitants got to the Zappa VS UZ poll first and it's 8-4.  Not going to last, unfortunately Cry

Zappa was brilliant though, if he wins he deserves it. I still voted UZ.

Zappa did a lot of brilliant stuff, but he also did a lot of things that, in my opinion, greatly diminished his career and his contributions to music in general

Not so with UZ
