Your Top 10 Non-Prog Albums

   While most of our libraries are probably progressive rock, of course we (probably) have some music outside of this collection.

Sorry if this thread has been done before. Anyway, post your favorite non-prog albums and say a bit about them. I'd say if they are an artist on here (even prog-related or proto-prog), leave them out.

Ben Folds Five - (1999) "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner"
I am in love with everything Ben Folds does and this is the pinnacle of his achievement. Tracks 1-6 and 10/11 are all in my top 10 Ben Folds songs, and I've heard every song he's ever made.

Billy Joel - (1971) "Cold Spring Harbor"
The piano man himself's debut album -- it is remarkable. It has been poorly reviewed and often overlooked, but I honestly find this to be his best album. Almost every song on the album has suicidal undertones. It's brilliant! :D

Death Cab for Cutie - (2005) "Plans"
I should know better than to judge a band by it's name... after all, I am a prog fan! *rimshot* But anyway, by the popularity and wikipedia page of Death Cab for Cutie, I was expecting the worst, and was instead very pleased. Very good album.

Elton John - (1971) "Madman Across the Water"
His finest work. Nothing else needs to be said.

Iron & Wine - (2007) "The Shepherd's Dog"
A very good alternative folk rock album by singer/songwriter Sam Beam. Imagine Elliott Smith with world music, I guess.

Jason Mraz - (2005) "Mr. A-Z"
Never before have I been so surprised by an album. I heard the singles off of this and wanted to literally set my friend's copy ablaze. If you can accept pop music into your life, you need this album. I've probably listened through it twenty times now... Mraz does an Operatic Soprano solo!

Jimmy Eat World - (2001) "Bleed American"
A very pretty album by some surprisingly good musicians. Most people probably already know the singles off of this album. There's no bad song on here.

Labi Siffre - (1975) "Remember My Song"
I got this album after finding out that Eminem's hit break song "My Name Is" samples from a gay black man named Labi Siffre... who is Labi Siffre?!? An amazing R&B, folk, jazz poet/singer/songwriter, that's who Labi Siffre is! If you need convincing, just listen to the first track: "I Got The." It's actually fairly progressive, too.

Paul Simon - (1972) "Paul Simon"

This album is fantastic. Featuring the hit song "Me and Julio Down by
the Schoolyard," I am incredibly impressed with everything he does.
Very emotional, very well done.

Weezer - (1994) "Weezer" (The Blue Album)
Probably considered by most to be Weezer's best album, I hated this album when I first got it. Now I play it all the time. Many gems on this one.
