I don't really dislike any highly rated album, but there are a number that I can't connect well with:

Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Rush - 2112 (in fact I can't really connect to any of their studio albums despite enjoying their live videos)
David Bowie - Low
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood (actually all of them)
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Steven Wilson - The Raven that Refused to Sing
Van der Graaf Generator - Godbluff (certainly not a bad album but somehow it doesn't connect with me in the way pretty much all other VDGG do)
Jethro Tull - Benefit (early Tull generally doesn't work that well for me)
Anglagard - Hybris

Just like Muse, I only really got into a couple of albums of Radiohead; but Kid A is the album that got me to reconsider OKC (but not The Bends) - enough for me to own it still nowadays.

As for Muse, Absolution & Black Holes are the only one I enjoyed back then, and Abso (and Kid A) are the only one I spin every half-decade or so.

.

Origin Of Symmetry is their masterpiece but it took me a long time to appreciate that fact. Production wise they improved on the subsequent albums you mentioned and then took a bit of a dive overall with the electro pop albums until the last album which I like a lot and also Drones which is fine (and The Globalist the finest track they ever recorded).IMO

BTW interesting point of trivia , guitarist and singer Matt Bellamy's dad was in the English sixties band The Tornadoes who had a hit with Telstar.

I love early Muse.

Post Resistance Muse albums are very hit and miss for me, I can respect they're trying new things for sure, but their initial charm they had is pretty much gone for me.

And I have a very high tolerance for bad music and films (love those of the so bad they're good variety) and have witnessed/ heard some very horrible things in my life.

Here are two albums I actually bought but actively disliked:
Spock's Beard - Snow
Transatlantic - SMPTe or was it Bridge Across Forever (I gave both of these to a friend)

In general I am not fan of Neo-Prog (unless Duster actually counts as Neo-Prog which it does not for me), Progressive Metal or modern Symph Prog acts, and AORish music (kinds of melodic rock and metal). Still, I can enjoy some Dream Theater, some Marillion and IQ, even some Spock's Beard. I guess "things Neal Morse" come closest to not being able to stomach them. I know lots of people love his music, and some of it is fine with me, and that others like it is fine with me. No offence to the artist or artistry intended.

I can only stomach Neal Morse in small doses. I own one Spock's Beard album, one Neal Morse album, and Transatlantica's live DVD.
I'm fine with Morse's lyrics. It's the music that annoys me after a while.
I like the first 10-20 minutes of Morse...followed by diminished returns.

It's mostly the music but also some of the lyrics I have heard, and something about the guy generally to be honest. Other people love him, and good for them. To each their own tastes/interests. I don't mind religious themes in music (if not overly preachy generally), and actually there is lot of religious and inspired-by-religion music that I love. Sufjan Stevens is an American I am very into these days and I have seen complaints about his music being too Christian at times (I read that in a review of Seven Swans -- a fave of mine) but I like how he deals with those themes. And if it's part of your identity and background, I would expect it to come though. There some great-for-me music of the so-called "Jesus Freak" movement, and I love many traditional hymns.

And I listened to some of his collaborative Crosby Stills, Nash & Young inspired work and to me it pales in comparison to CSN/ CSNY. Neither a progressive take, nor interesting to me.

OOS and Absolution are pretty dense and dark albums, the latter even influencing Dream Theater around the time of Octavarium. Muse became very big around that time headlining Glastonbury as well as touring and gaining fans around the world. They never quite managed to break America though, perhaps that is telling. Much of what is good about them comes from Matt Bellamy but he readily admits he can't sing like he used to and so much of the power of the band came from that. I do like Will Of The People, has a decent set of songs with Verona and Kill Or Be Killed being right up their amongst their best. 'Hit or miss' though is an apt description of the band for the last 4-5 albums certainly.

I kind of dropped off Muse after Black Holes. They've become too Electro-pop and shouldn't have gone "Queen' with their nest two.
To me, Abso is their best by far, because of the addition of the piano, and in some ways, I'm happy that they didn't reproduce that since, making Lution a unique album in their discography.
I will give OOS another try ASAP, though.

I saw a full show broadcast a couple years ago, and they beome something I don't like, though I must hand it to them that they are awesome and what and how they do it.

Oh man. I can't really think of many. I initially struggled with King Crimson's Islands and also some early VDGG especially H to He and Pawn Hearts but all of those have grown on me I think.

Someone mentioned Operation Mindcrime. That's a very overrated album imo. I don't hate it but I fail to see what the big deal is.

There's medicine for that.
Also watch what you eat.

Fixing a-hole might help.

The problem with The Flower Kings is that you have to book a week off to listen to everything. Nowadays I just stick to the last 5 or 6 when Roine discovered the 'edit button'.

I think the problem lies not in The Flower Kings, but rather your diet, GPF. ;)
Judging by your posts there, I'd recommend you quit drinking alcohol and smoking weed.

This is no attack. It's a friendly advice in good faith, buddy.

If somebody regularly feels sick and has diarrhea, these are red signs. And knowing GPF's drinkning/smoking habits (as he said it himself on this very forum), he should see the doctor.
