This poll is approximately 18.67 percent less random than the 1968 to 1992 poll.
I wanted to try another fairly random poll except that they are all albums I like, all are in my AwesomeProg yearly charts, and all are included in Prog Archives, and this is arranged chronologically with the years 1993 to 2017 being covered. Vote for up to five of these albums that are known and liked (or more if one really wants to) and please comment on your selections. Obviously this is representative of my tastes so I would expect various people at PA not to know and/or like any of these albums. |

I haven't really given any Fishmans album a genuine listen yet. So far I've just listened for a few minutes here and there to find out what the fuss was about. I'm planning to though. So many favorites here. Voted for the five first of these:
Radiohead - Kid A Guapo - Five Suns Godspeed You Black Emperor! - F#A Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity Swans - To Be Kind Woven Hand - Woven Hand Anna von Hausswolff - Ceremony ( Dead Can Dance - Into the Labyrinth Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup Secret Chiefs 3 - Book M Elephant9 - Silver Mountain Magma - Emehntehtt-Re |

Thanks all. :)
^^ Saperlipopette! With Fishmans the greatest studio album to me is easily Long Season, but I like the live I mentioned more and that features Long Season on it. I prefer listening to the full two hour and ten minutes concert, but here is Long Season off it which is what got me to listen to it. That I worked in Japan when Long Season was recorded and released, retain some Japanese, and have travelled there quite a number of times, does help with my enjoyment. I can understand the lead singer's vocals (and lead composer/songwriter) might put some off. Sadly, he passed a few months after the concert. ^ Paul, I can't remember if you have tried William D. Drake, know I mentioned it in thread by you before, but I do think you would like "solo" music by him and music by North Sea Radio Orchestra. He was in Cardiacs but I don't think that should put you off. Edited by Logan - March 18 2025 at 12:07 |

Guapo, Fishmans, William D. Drake, and Radiohead. I bought an electron deodorant, you know, because of protons.

Nonagon Infinity Five Suns At The Mountains Of Madness Silver Mountain Kid A That's a strong list for me. I remember being so into King Gizzard. It felt like I talked to a lot of people about this band, in record stores mostly. Those microtonal instruments was new to me and the music was so darn catchy. Then I dropped them like a bad habit, mainly because around here it's almost vinyl exclusively that is available for these guys. |
