Here is my list of progressive music faves for the year 1971. My choice is the excellent and ground-breaking debut Passport album "Doldinger". Pick your favourite!

It has to be 'Tarkus' - just over Wyatt's last Soft Machine album.

Very nice, Doug, various I love here, but I can't not vote for Van der Graaf Generator's Pawn Hearts, which I think to be an incredible album.

If that weren't here, then I would have voted for Hawkwind's In Search Of Space. Aqualung is also awesome, I like Terje Rypdal and Collage very much, Passpprt/Doldinger Colloseum Live, The Yes Album. Soft Machine's Fourth....

I'm with you completely....

...apart from the fact that Colosseum Live literally drops my jaw...

frankly, there's an embarrassment of riches in this poll.. Cool
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Welcome to the middle of the film.

For several decades of love it's undoubtly Pawn Hearts, But if I'm only counting the last five or six years, I think my stongest relation is to the two first albums listed here (voted for Terje):

Terje Rypdal-Terje Rypdal
Soft Machine-Fourth
Van der Graaf Generator-Pawn Hearts
Jethro Tull-Aqualung
Le Orme-Collage
Passport-Doldinger

Love all of them though, and they're all perfect to my ears.

With the absence of my all time favourite album i.e 'Meddle' my vote goes to 'The Yes Album'.
Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Pawn Hearts. Buttery is not normally a word used to describe pants.
