Here is my list of progressive music faves for the year 1971. My choice is the excellent and ground-breaking debut Passport album "Doldinger". Pick your favourite!

It has to be 'Tarkus' - just over Wyatt's last Soft Machine album.

Very nice, Doug, various I love here, but I can't not vote for Van der Graaf Generator's Pawn Hearts, which I think to be an incredible album.

If that weren't here, then I would have voted for Hawkwind's In Search Of Space. Aqualung is also awesome, I like Terje Rypdal and Collage very much, Passpprt/Doldinger Colloseum Live, The Yes Album. Soft Machine's Fourth....
