I remember former Labour leader Ed Miliband was once described as being "more Stackridge than Beatles."

I love Spirogyra's St. Radigunds and will very happily give it a vote. Tudor Lodge's self-titled would be my runner-up (I really like that album). I also know and like a few others from the list, namely the Cat Stevens, Strawbs's From the Witchwood and Tir Na Nog. The only other one here I have heard that I recall is the Stackridge.

Giving Storyteller some love, as their sophomore is much stronger than their debut.

So many bands and artist released a career high in 1971. Regardless of genre. Love all of these, and don't know which one to vote for (yet):
Spirogyra - St. Radigunds Bridget St. John - Songs for the Gentle Man Tudor Lodge - Tudor Lodge Strawbs - From the Witchwood Tir Na Nog - Tir Na Nog The Way We Live - A Candle for Judith |

Along with Lindisfarne, Stackridge were posited as 'the next beatles' in the music press of the time; even (sir) George Martin was brought in to produce and oversee Stackridge's 'Man in the Bowler Hat' lp (called 'Pinafore days in Canada and US). Both were brilliant but not the Beatles.. I will vote Stackeridge with Bridget st John next and How we live Candle for Judith third.
