STRANGE DAYS      Maybe the proggiest of all the Prog Folk bands, Strange Days once infamously sailed 9 Parts to the Wind by sharing the same stage with The Sex Pistols. Strange Days indeed. Smile

STRAWBS      Some Prog Folk bands have been as ephemeral as the proverbial Dragonfly, but the Strawbs have been Ringing Down the Years now for well over half a century with an impressive discography that's positively Bursting at the Seams with 25 albums. The Strawbs debut album - recorded in 1967 - which they were proud to call All Our Own Work, featured the Hero and Heroine of Prog Folk: Dave Cousins and Sandy Denny. Dave Cousins has been the driving force behind the Strawbs throughout their long career and Sandy Denny is of course best-known now for her association with Fairport Convention, where her haunting refrains still conjure up the Ghosts of halcyon days gone by, unlike the Grave New World we live in now. The Strawbs diverse albums are much more than Just a Collection of Antiques and Curios though. They released a whole string of classic albums in the early 1970's to meet various record company Deadlines. The Strawbs folky songs From the Witchwood range anywhere from Folk Rock to Baroque & Roll with some of their Deep Cuts being a full-on Prognostic experience. Their latest album was released earlier this year, but who knows if that will be their final Settlement. Let's hope not. Don't Say Goodbye to the Strawbs just yet, as there may be still more to come. That's The Magic of It All.Smile
