I can enjoy a lot some Heavy Psych albums, and yet, I haven't found so many of them so far. Those I've found are more or less: Captain Beyond (USA) - Captain Beyond (1972) Flower Travellin’ Band (J) - Satori (1971) Flower Travellin’ Band - Made In Japan (1972) Groundhogs (UK) - Split (1971) Iron Butterfly (USA) - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (1968) May Blitz (UK) - The Second of May (1971) Morgen (USA) - Morgen (1969) T2 (UK) - It’ll All Work out in Boomland (1970) Which are your favourite? Those are all strong albums.
Have you tried more current bands like Elder and Howling Giant?

As far as I remember, I've heard some of Elder's Dead Roots Stirring, and I might give them a new listen. Anyway, thanks for recommendations. |

What is that? The logo looks like it's a death metal band.

Spiral is pretty awesome if you don't mind extreme vocals and the occasional production issues that come from self-releasing projects (though they've gotten much better at the years went by). While there are some very cool quiet and spacey sections, it is most often massively sludgey and stoner-doomy, dark stuff that you will either love or hate, but if you love it, there's a lot there to throw yourself into. Another notable thing is that they are huge on storytelling. It's not just all focus on the music. They put a lot of work into constructing their own little worlds where colorful characters live and big, wild themes can carry over from one album to other albums. Cool artwork too on many of the covers. |

One more of my fond-ofs, which is more on the borderline of Heavy Psych, but which I've added to my list: May Blitz (UK) - The Second of May (1971) |
