Does Deuter classify? He was a German musician who worked well in an ambient, Indian influenced, meditative music. Like the kind you put on in the background when relaxing. Technically, he is also termed as 'krautrock' but his sound is quite different to other bands in that category.

Funnily, I listened to one of his albums in a very wrong context. Putting them on at a train station and during road transport. The mostly instrumental silence seared [sometimes] works don't really gel well when you are expecting hard hitting music instead so that the music and ANC drowns outside noise off.

I am intrigued by this band. Apparently, their debut flirts with the motorik groove quite much though in terms of run time, it is slightly long.

I listened to Gila. They are krautrock - though I will argue it's too vast a term to group bands considering it's origins. Coming back, they have only 2 proper studio albums and debut is decent. It's rated quite high here at PA and while I personally don't thing it's that good, it's still atleast a one time listen for folks interested in the genre.

I listened to an album of Out of Focus and 'D' by Deuter. Both are krautrock in a way. The latter has couple of good songs though I didn't find the last 2 ambient ones any good. The former has atleast one fine instrumental.

Actually 'Put od Bolona' is on it, so that's a plus.

I just bought the Abstract Concrete yesterday based on Sid Smith's recommendation. I'm liking it.

Listened to Kugelschreiber yesterday for the first time. Very enjoyable.

I also recently discovered Charles Hayward's current project Abstract Concrete, and Yoo Doo Right through their 2024 album.

You saw them listed on the top 50 billboard pop charts right? WinkTongue

Kugelschreiber has Cardiac, North Sea Radio Orchestra related people in it so found them through that social media. Lunar Mistake has Matt Lebofsky of Mirthkon and Secret Chiefs 3 in the band along with Dave Shamrock of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Matt mentioned them on PE.

Actually, I've known the group by name for a long time, ever since I saw them on an advertisement sheet in a Residents album. But it was only earlier today that I first listened to their music. I am quite impressed. I'm somewhat surprised that they are not here under RIO/Avant-Prog.
It's not for lack of trying that they're not here. Four suggestions at least, one in August 2005, one in December 2007, one in May 2010 and another in February 2016.

The general consensus from the evaluation that was carried out following the second of these suggestions was that the band should be considered for Prog Related:

I don't know if a Special Collaborator ever prepared a case and submitted it to our admins though.

Thanks Smile

I have already looked through two threads recommending them to this site, one of which saying they had already been rejected. I think they belong here under RIO/Avant-Prog for the same reason that Cardiacs belong here. But whereas Cardiacs combine prog with punk, Tuxedomoon combine prog with post-punk New Wave (bearing some similarity to Snakefinger, IMO).

According to AllMusic, their "Influenced By" list is:

Brian Eno, Gong, Henry Cow, John Cage, Kraftwerk, Philip Glass, Robert Wyatt, Roxy Music, Terry Riley

which to me reads like a prog supergroup.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I listened to 3 albums by Gong till now starting from the debut. Sadly, I only loved one of them. The debut fell flat on me and Radio Gnome trilogy didn't get me excited either. The only album I loved was, I forget it's name, was the one Master Builder was on.
