This is part three covering 25 other acts with tracks I like. To vote you need not know the majority of tracks, you only need to have heard and dislike one track in the list, or just like one less than the others you know.
I have made a playlist (see below) with all the options in case anyone opts to check out any of the music and remind oneself of any of the options. Here is Part One CLICK and Part 2 CLICK If voting, or even if not voting, please leave a comment. EDIT: Forgot to write, also please do mention some particular ones you like if applicable. :) Edited by Logan - Yesterday at 01:21 |

Very nice series dominated by excellent tracks that make it somewhat hard to find the "winner", meaning loser. Having voted for Cluster last time, I will be honest and vote somewhat unoriginally for Harmonia here; Moebius/Roedelius esthetic is just not for me. I haven't been impressed by anything that I've heard by Mercury Rev yet, but their track here is OK (would've been the next candidate).
My personal favourite is Me Fish Bring, but I could again list lots that I love. We have much in common musically, and these lists are great, so I should probably take the time to listen to everything on these playlists that I don't know. (I know quite a bit more than half on all of them but that still leaves a good number of unknowns.) PS: I just see the first vote went to Me Fish Bring. What's wrong with the world?

Again, the similarities of your song affinities to mine are astounding! It was really hard to find a song on this list that I don't love. And I actually know them all!

I wrote quite a bit here and lost it, but I love just about everything here (I revisited those I had forgotten and the few I didn't know). I do not love Lucky Man, but it's a nice enough song. I do love Henry Cow without Dagmar and I have no issues with Dagmar in Art Bears + I enjoy selected Slapp Happy. But Dagmar and Henry Cow in combination does not work for me at all I'm afraid. So my vote went to Living in the Heart of the Beast.
Btw: considering he's originally from Cardiacs, William D. Drake solo stuffis shockingly beautiful - and right up my alley. Edited by Saperlipopette! - Yesterday at 06:20 |

Pentagle—Hunting Song. Not that I don't like it, but it would be my less favorite.

I do wish theses polls were to set up to show who voted for what or to make it so that each vote required a post. "Me Fish Bring" is a gorgeous track, but it's also least liked of what you know and I have more popular names in this list 9it's more mainstream Prog) than my personal favourites lists often are. So glad to see comments. I woke up during the night, checked this, and was sorry to see it had no comments or votes and had fallen a fair amount down the page. By the way, sharing Squid Narrator in an active topic (This or That) and getting very negative commentary on it (I appreciated the effort and have no problem with such negativity) was half of the immediate impetus for these topics, so interesting not to see it having a vote here. I would totally get the screaming in that being off-putting. Most of this is pretty easy-on-the-ears stuff, I would say.
Nice! And I haven't even been covering very much of the jazzy music I like.
I too don't love the ELP, but I do like it and wanted to go beyond my usual suspects. I'm reasonably confident that William D. Drake would have provided Cardiacs moments that you would enjoy if you just focused on those, at least. I think he also came up with some very nice stuff with Tim Smith of Cardiacs. I think he's brilliant. This is another favourite of mine from him, and this does have qualities I love in Cardiacs:
I knew that Henry Cow track would be divisive and get votes if people took an interest in this topic. -------------------------------- By the way, I heard "War" on the radio many years ago (in the 80s). By the way, I was going to go going with "Beautiful as the Moon; Terrible as an Army with Banners" from Henry Cow, which is a traditional favourite of mine from HC, but wanted to do something different that I also love. Just posting for any who do not know it (I adore it): And god I love "Ruins":
Thanks all for taking the time to comment. I find that so much more interesting than a vote alone. |

And here I was thinking that that may be too little known to stand a Ghost of a chance at getting a vote. I love it. It follows the same kind of template of so much music that has really caught my ear over the past 40 years. Edited by Logan - 19 hours 44 minutes ago at 11:44 |

I'm used to the 'mutli vote' option being available on your polls Greg so went straight for ELP intending to add Yes and GG lol. Funny to see Yes - Heart Of The Sunrise without any votes
EDIT - and I failed to read the the question. massive fail on my part . Well I do think that song is a bit overated as is their debut album generally (although I like it) Edited by richardh - 8 hours 30 minutes ago at 22:58 |
