Just a collection of longer pieces that I've rarely seen mentioned on this site. I'm sure each one has their advocates, but these are not usually mentioned when discussing the artist's best work. Maybe it was the time or production values when they were released, as by 1975, epics started to become frowned upon. That being said, I realize there are many epics not listed here from the same time period, so this poll is not intended to be all-inclusive.

For this poll, I am defining "epic" as "at least 13 minutes long". The choices are listed in chronological order.

I happen to love three of these--hold them up as some of Prog Valhalla's greatest epics: "Safe," "1984," and "Fall of the House of Usher."

Truth, when I'm really drunk I speak in Japanese. It's not very good Japanese but it's still Japanese. My son has gone through a French immersion school, by the way, which is the local school. At home we commonly speak a mishmash of languages.

Pirates. One of the best songs I've ever heard. The rest are also excellent.

According to Allan, "The Un-Merry-Go-Round" is about an astronaut, Colonel Som, who decides if he should embark on a mission that would take him a great distance and bring him back to Earth in the distant future.

There are seven parts to the song and in part three Gary Husband lays down a killer drum solo.

I'm not that much of a fan of Alan Parson's Project (anymore), but this reminds me of the time when all great prog music was new to me and a universe to discover. APP were among the first.
