Oddleaf sprang to life in early 2020, when Carina Taurer (keyboards) and Mathieu Rossi (flute) decided that after a decade of early and mediaeval music, it was high time for some prog-rock. They gave birth to an all-new set of original material. And during 2021, they took on quite a few new members: Olivier Orlando (guitar and bass), Clément Curaudeau (drums), and vocalist extraordinaire Olivier Marcaud. Despite this, Marcaud was no longer able to show dedication towards the project by late 2023; as a result, he took away his singer hat and gave it to Adeline Gurtner. This simply strengthened the natural and feminine qualities as part of the ensemble persona.

Oddleaf proudly cites inspirations from the progressive music scene of the 1970s; their appreciation for the aesthetic qualities of 70s music is evident in their fondness for the timeless sounds produced by keyboards—particularly Mellotron and Hammond organ. At the same time, Oddleaf embraces modern technologies and sounds, notably through the use of the electronic flute, which belongs to the family of electronic wind instruments.

After performing live in small venues, the band had the privilege of being the support act for Franck Carducci, a French multi-instrumentalist regarded by Progarchives as a crossover prog artist.

The next significant milestone for Oddleaf was the recording of their debut studio album. This has been lovingly crafted over many months since the initial recording sessions commenced in October 2023.
At long last, their debut album, "Where Ideal and Denial Collide," is now available as a CD. This edition includes unlimited streaming through the complimentary Bandcamp app, along with a high-quality download in FLAC format. Download available in 24-bit/44.1 kHz.

We'll take this to the team and added to the charts.
Music is the refuge of souls ulcerated by happiness.
