BIO SOLUNA is an argentinian spin-off band created when GUSTAVO SANTAOLALLA - Guitar & Vocals and HORACIO "DROOPY" GIANELLO - Drums left ARCO IRIS after the releasing of Agitor Lucens V, and joined forces with Alejandro Lerner - Keyboards, Mónica Campins - Vocals, Oscar "Osqui" Amante - Guitar, Percussion, Vocals, and Ricardo Libman - Bass, Vocals. Seeking a further development of the already strong vocal harmonies achieved with Arco Iris, and an experimental approach to folk song including a chamber-like string section and odd-meter song sections, they released Energía Natural, their only album, in 1977, enlisting as guests the following musicians: Charly Garcia - Keyboards, Mauricio Veber - Cello, Rody Ziliani - Accordion, Sergio Polizzi - Violin, Roberto Valencia - Percussion Tracklist 01. Espérame encendida 02. Mañana puede ser el día 03. Ella despertaba 04. Voy a hacer las paces 05. Sin zapatos es mejor 06. Si el manzano duerme 07. Detrás de la valla 08. Una vida para amar 09. El terror de la abuela 10. Detrás del vidrio roto Album Cover Back Cover Edited by Heart of the Matter - July 17 2024 at 21:22 |

Looks promising, and I'm always here for anything involving Charly Garcia. Will take them to the team - thank you!

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

^ Thank you Sean. I had this LP ages ago, and when I gave it a new listen this week, that's exactly what I thought.

I agree, I think prog folk is closest to what they represent, though there is a lot of other stuff in there as well

^ I think that, to some extent at least, to each track is given a particular sound. García is using here and there keyboard sounds from his tenure with LMDHP, Amante moves from guitars to percussion, resulting in many different combinations.

It may be interesting to contrast Santaolalla's guitar work with his much more expansive performance in his previous step with Arco Iris:

Note that most of the guest artists you listed above were not mentioned in discogs.com. I have included them but just wanted to confirm that they played on this album.

^ Great Ken, thanks. I understand your concern about the guests, and I'll try to answer to that with my source. It's a website (in Spanish) I learn to appreciate, since they document their claims with liner notes from original editions (when available), and well chosen quotes from specialized press of the era, including statements from the artists themselves. Here it is, in case you want to check the personnel list:
