I've been having a lot of fun playing around with AI recently and I got to making imaginary album covers for legendary bands, imagining that it was from a certain time and line-up of the band.
I'm using the Microsoft app 'Copilot,' which can use Chatgpt-4. I give pretty elaborate commands to it and it has come up with some amazing results. Especially if the command starts with "a vinyl album cover with a logo saying '______' above a scene with ________." Starting the command with "a vinyl album cover" gets it to provide results that look genuinely like a vinyl product in the hand. Some of the results are amazing. But I'd love to see what anyone else can come up with. I'll start us off. Here are some imaginary lost Genesis album covers with the classic Gabriel line-up, for an album I imagine was the album after Foxtrot. What do you think it would sound like? What topics would be covered in the songs? Fun! |

Nice work! I'd buy those three Genesis albums just on the strength of the album covers alone. After all, they're a big improvement over any of the album covers that came after Foxtrot.

Hi,
I like the art, but the subject matter is sad ... why do we have to continue doing this "hero" thing all the time? None of the progressive music was really about the "hero" until one guy in one band who thinks he is the book's thumper!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

The pictures look nice, but I don't see the connection with Genesis.

There is a knight and ermm that's it. PG era Genesis album covers were quirky and funny (until TLLDOB). Nursery Crime is one of the best album covers of any band. AI generated covers are what they are but are never going to be quirky or funny.

Enters thread that he knows he will dislike, tells everyone how offensive he finds it all.
My thinking behind these was not about a hero. It poses a question... why is a knight visiting a woman in a poor village. What for? There could be many potentials stories to the image.

I think the Greenslade ones look a lot better than the Genesis ones and seem to fit the "Greenslade style" better, especially the first one of the four. I'm fast-loading and have lots of ads for colanders.

This product is very limited. I tried making some for my own project and it keeps misspelling the name. It also won't make any album covers for toilets and farts.

This one is interesting and at the same time demonstrates why AI generated images always suck. I'm not here to bash them, I like to play around with the technology - it's just that I've yet to see a really good result.

I like your AI generated covers espcially the Greenslade series. Any ideas for King Crimson covers....?
